The Big C and Me: CANCER CLUB (Part II)
http://thebigcandme.blogspot.com/2011/04/joining-cancer-club-part-ii.html
Healing and dealing with life after a breast cancer diagnosis. Saturday, April 2, 2011. CANCER CLUB (Part II). Biopsy day arrives. The radiologist is right. It doesn't hurt! She takes four separate tissue samples using a large core needle that makes a clicking sound each time it captures my flesh. She comments on how relaxed I am, that I'm "in the zone." Wait a minute. Am I supposed. To be "in the zone"? Why am I IN THE ZONE? But she never does. I decide to share my concern with two close friends, one on...
The Big C and Me: MOVING ON AFTER CANCER: MELANIE (FIRST IN A SERIES)
http://thebigcandme.blogspot.com/2013/09/melanies-story.html
Healing and dealing with life after a breast cancer diagnosis. Sunday, September 15, 2013. MOVING ON AFTER CANCER: MELANIE (FIRST IN A SERIES). Many positives come out of cancer, and I admit I don't always write about them. But today I'm going to. The biggest ones involve the many new friends I've made since my December 2010 breast cancer diagnosis. I often refer to these friends as The Rubies. And I'm fortunate to have several sets of such wonderful gems. Long before I was on Twitter. But I was not.

Healing and dealing with life after a breast cancer diagnosis. Monday, August 18, 2014. THE ICE BUCKET BACKLASH. You've seen the videos all over Facebook and other social media: People participating in The Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money and awareness for. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, aka Lou Gehrig's Disease. A vast array of my Facebook friends participated, too. A few have mentioned making a monetary donation. Fewer still have made an attempt to educate people about ALS in their videos. It's hard...
The Big C and Me: SIX-WORD MEMOIR: CANCER
http://thebigcandme.blogspot.com/2012/05/six-word-memoir-cancer.html
Healing and dealing with life after a breast cancer diagnosis. Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Ernest Hemingway was a big fan of brevity; his most famous short story is a perfect example:. For sale: baby shoes, never worn.". Proves the point that you don't need a lot of words to make a point! Larry Smith, founder of SMITH Magazine. Believes that too. Back in 2006, he created the tantalizing Six-Word Memoir project. Everyone has a story. What's yours? My challenge to you all today is:. I say we give it a whirl!
The Big C and Me: MOTHER'S DAY: IT'S COMPLICATED
http://thebigcandme.blogspot.com/2015/05/mothers-day-its-complicated.html
Healing and dealing with life after a breast cancer diagnosis. Thursday, May 7, 2015. MOTHER'S DAY: IT'S COMPLICATED. I wanted to share a beautiful, personal and poignant essay that my friend Kim. Wrote about the many complications of motherhood. It's entitled. My Mother, Mother-In-Law, and Me: A Love Triangle. And WOW, what a great read. But I don't want to give the story away by excerpting even one sentence. So I'll let you. Read it on your own. Have a tissue ready! Labels: breast cancer, #mothersday.

The emotional life of breast cancer and life's other travails. Archives for category: grief and loss. Laquo; Older Entries. December 12, 2015. Can you believe it? Emotions and crazy thinking were released like bags of trash to the universe, a week at a time. But I have lived. I have lived into the wisdom that PTSD is worse when anxiety robs sleep. It is completely paralyzing when I am on the losing end of the battle. And it rears its ugly head as I insist that ALL BE DONE to help, because I reali...After...

Barefeet In The Kitchen: Cranberry Christmas Cake
http://www.barefeetinthekitchen.com/2011/12/cranberry-christmas-cake.html
Friday, December 2, 2011. A few weeks ago, my friend Valerie made this to share with friends. The moment I tasted it, I asked for the recipe. Tart cranberries, sweet buttery cake and a fantastic texture all combined to basically beg me to eat another piece. This is an absolutely perfect cake that takes very little effort to make. No icing, no topping, nothing else is necessary at all. It was reminiscent to me of a coffeecake in texture, but much lighter than the typical heavy version. Bake for 40-50 minu...

Things I do to Escape Cancer! Wednesday, 29 February 2012. Hair Harvesting and What You Can Do. This could be from forty to two hundred pounds plus deepening on length, condition and hair type. The fact I have not dyed my hair at forty one or smoked makes all the difference if I wanted to sell my hair. How much would this cost me to do? Within ten minutes I get a reply.

http://breastcancerlottery.blogspot.com/2011/11/mr-bellringer-how-dare-you.html
Things I do to Escape Cancer! Saturday, 12 November 2011. Mr Bellringer How Dare You! Sometimes I ask myself why people even bother sharing their opinion on national television, especially on such a sensitive subject such as cancer. A friend mentioned a program called ‘My Transsexual Summer’ and how she was extremely angry with a statement a plastic surgeon had made. Quote from Gender Reassignment Surgeon James Bellringer at Charing Cross:. Mr Bellringer makes his appearance 42 minutes into the episode.
