Too Cute to be Very Interesting: January 2011
http://popwaffle.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Too Cute to be Very Interesting. Wednesday, January 5, 2011. One Reason I Like My Job. I have many reasons to be irritated by my job, but here's one reason I like it:. Four chapters left to write in the WIP. It's my best book yet. It's the one I wrote most fearlessly. I didn't let my internal editor whisper negative, soul-stealing critiques as I wrote. And you can kind of tell. I highly doubt it. Subliminal influences? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Janet Reid, Literary Agent. The time has come. I've had th...

http://popwaffle.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Too Cute to be Very Interesting. Wednesday, December 8, 2010. Well, I did not win Nanawrimo. But *I'm* still a winner in my book. My WIP is hovering right around 34,000 words and I know exactly what I need to write to tell the rest of the story. I'm very, very (yes that's two adverbs in a row, count them, two! Pleased with my progress. So thank you Nanowrimo for giving me the kick to write faster and more often. I may not have won you, but *you won me.*. Ha ha ha ha.wouldn't that be nice? But anyway....

Too Cute to be Very Interesting: April 2010
http://popwaffle.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Too Cute to be Very Interesting. Sunday, April 25, 2010. How Soon is too Soon? I've edited TTFA three times, and about the only thing I wish I could do at this point is come up with a better title. Damn you, Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson! I'm thrilled for your crossover success from wrestling to movies, but dude. You made my title way less fun than it was back in November when I first came up with the idea. Is it too soon to start a new project? Sunday, April 18, 2010. I had no idea Ted's mom was a writer...

Too Cute to be Very Interesting: September 2010
http://popwaffle.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Too Cute to be Very Interesting. Sunday, September 12, 2010. Reflecting on September 11th. Bunch of freakin idiots. There are some things you just shouldn't do. This reminds me to tell you about Meg Cabot's heartwrenching and amazing post. About her experience on September 11th, 2001. I don't think about September 11th too often. I'm practicing the unofficial American sport of pretending bad stuff never happens. Umokey dokey. She wasn't a patient, either. So there you go. In case you needed t...Cauliflow...

Too Cute to be Very Interesting. Wednesday, May 19, 2010. Wow I just literally spent all freakin day reading and critiquing the 60-some entries in the Secret Agent contest on Miss Snark's First Victim. And It. Took. Me. All. Day. That took for-frakking-ever. I sure did enjoy it though. Here's hoping for me! Sunday, May 2, 2010. My Surefire Trick to Beating Procrastination. Yes ladies and gentlemen, sirs and sirettes. Too Cute to be Very Interesting: June 2010
http://popwaffle.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Too Cute to be Very Interesting. Wednesday, June 9, 2010. I was chatting with my dad the other day. I love doing that. Even though we lived in the same house my entire life growing up, I never really felt like I knew him. He worked a lot. But I knew he was a cool, interesting, guy; we just never really talked all that much. Sometimes when we did talk, I would find out some odd random thing about him. Example of a conversation with dad:. I met him once.". Me: "Sure you did.". Dad: "I did.". Cauliflower ha...

Too Cute to be Very Interesting: I've Started a New WIP
http://popwaffle.blogspot.com/2011/03/ive-started-new-wip.html
Too Cute to be Very Interesting. Sunday, March 20, 2011. I've Started a New WIP. Yes, yes, I know, the ink was barely dry and blah blah blah. I am so incredibly thrilled. You know how when you finish a book you spend weeks feeling like you're never going to have another original idea ever again? Well come to me it did. The idea has been germinating for a few days, but the opening wouldn't come to me. Everything that ran through my mind was discarded almost as quickly as I thought of it. And every once in...

Too Cute to be Very Interesting: The Lack of Middle Grade?
http://popwaffle.blogspot.com/2011/03/lack-of-middle-grade.html
Too Cute to be Very Interesting. Sunday, March 13, 2011. The Lack of Middle Grade? It seems that everywhere I turn, I'm reading blog posts about the huge hole that agents see in good middle grade submissions, that there is an enormous, hungry, beast-like market ready to gobble up anything that a good middle grade writer can churn out. You just wrote 5K of YA. Super." delete delete delete. The voice is very difficult to nail. Is it simply stuffed to the gills with Harry Potter books? What I'm getting at i...

Too Cute to be Very Interesting: November 2010
http://popwaffle.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Too Cute to be Very Interesting. Friday, November 12, 2010. So, yes, I joined Nanawrimo, and yes it has given me the kick I needed to write more. But I am writing daily, and that's a good thing. I'm planning a "power day" today. I'm going to drop the girls off at preschool, come home and put something in the crock pot, send out some annoying emails that I need to work on, and then write write write. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Janet Reid, Literary Agent. This blog is going to the dogs, Day 31. I'm thrill...
