Sunday, February 27, 2011. The first time I ever saw a black-bellied whistling duck was in the bayou at Lake Martin about 1998. There was a pair feeding in the shallows along the bayou. A couple of weeks ago, the swamp was still mostly grey with moss being the predominant color factor.
