The Bitter Knitter

Monday, December 7, 2009. Baby, it's cold outside. So I knit Ava another hat. Hats seem to be the only thing I can knit anymore, because they go relatively quickly. I knit this one in just a few hours. This yarn has been in my stash forever. I love the color, but I only had one skein of it, so I wasn't sure what to do with it. This pattern seemed to fit the yarn nicely. Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Finally, an FO! Finally, a finished knit (albeit a small one)! I used the pattern from Itty. And the hat fi...

The Bitter Knitter: baby cardi, and what's with these birds?

http://thebitterknitterblog.blogspot.com/2009/05/baby-cardi-and-whats-with-these-birds.html

Monday, May 25, 2009. Baby cardi, and what's with these birds? I finished the Feather and Fan cardigan for my baby. This was the first time I've knit anything using the feather and fan pattern, and I love it! It's amazing how such a simple stitch can yield something that looks so complicated (well, it looks complicated to me, anyway). This picture is a bit awkward. Is my very favorite part. So about these birds. A few weeks ago, Husband told me that there was a bird trying to make a nest on our outside l...

The Bitter Knitter: Finally, an FO!!!

http://thebitterknitterblog.blogspot.com/2009/10/finally-fo.html

Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Finally, an FO! Finally, a finished knit (albeit a small one)! It's fall, and like most other knitters, I've been itching to knit. However, my desire to knit hasn't been fulfilled, because there are about 1232438 other things that I need to be doing. But, this baby needed a pumpkin hat! I used the pattern from Itty. Bitty Hats. Most of the patterns in this book are just variations of about 3 basic hat styles. I've made a couple of other. Doesn't she look thrilled?

The Bitter Knitter: January 2009

http://thebitterknitterblog.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Wednesday, January 7, 2009. Back in the swing of things. I love knitting. I love taking a pair of sticks and some string and making something out of nothing. For the past 2 years or so, I've been knitting very regularly. Like, daily. But, for the past, oh, I dunno, 6 weeks or so, I've been distracted. So distracted that I actually went an entire month without knitting a. What could keep someone from partaking in a hobby which they love so dearly? Notice he's wearing one lovely hand-knit. First, Husband g...

The Bitter Knitter: August 2009

http://thebitterknitterblog.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 7, 2009. These 2 weeks have absolutely flown. By I can't believe my baby is already. Old It's already going by too fast for my liking. It's also hard to believe how much life changes so quickly. (And how easily you adjust to lack of sleep.). I really am happier than I look in this photo, just tired. Since there won't be any new knitting here for, oh, I don't know how long, here's a picture of an old project. Just this time with a cute little baby wearing it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Knit Nook: Eloise Sweater (again)

http://knitnookshop.blogspot.com/2011/02/eloise-sweater-again.html

Wednesday, February 9, 2011. To review: Eloise Cardigan (free on Ravelry), one skein of Cascade Sierra, smallest size. Here she is at two months. So MH has gotten bigger, but this sweater is still too big. I have a sneaking suspicion that all of her sweaters- no matter what size they are- will fit her perfectly in July. Well in July most places have a tendency of cranking their AC too high so sometimes I bring something just in case. February 9, 2011 at 11:54 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Knit Nook: Baby!

http://knitnookshop.blogspot.com/2010/12/baby.html

Sunday, December 12, 2010. After 9 months of pregnancy and 12 hours of labor, Mary Hadley Dennis was born on Thursday, December 9 at 7:18 pm. She weighed in at 8 lbs 2 ounces and 20 inches. (I know how you all like the baby stats! We're both doing fine. Sleep deprived, but recovering nicely. And did I mention that she's the most beautiful person that I've ever seen in my life? Yay, yay, yay! Definitely beautiful. Let me know if you all need anything - seriously. December 12, 2010 at 9:49 PM.

The Knit Nook: First Sweater

http://knitnookshop.blogspot.com/2010/12/first-sweater.html

Tuesday, December 21, 2010. I remember when I first knit this sweater and it didn't seem possible that a human being could ever be so small. Well, turns out Mary is even smaller than that! The sweater is a bit big, but she doesn't seem to mind! Here's hoping we'll get at least another month out of it. Pattern: Eloise Eyelet Cardi. Lion Brand) [rav link]- the smallest size. Yarn: Exactly one skein of Cascade Sierra, gifted by Steven. January 4, 2011 at 8:56 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Knit Nook: Old sweaters

http://knitnookshop.blogspot.com/2011/01/old-sweaters.html

Wednesday, January 26, 2011. And I went to the Knit Nook today. Mimi (aka Cindy) was wearing one of the first sweaters she ever knitted. It was so long ago, in fact, that I don't remember the pattern or the yarn. (I think she made the pattern up and the yarn company went out of business, so a lot of good that information would have been anyway.). Out Swedish Yarns Baby Ull. Is at almost seven weeks and it fits her perfectly. Wool in the Woods! January 26, 2011 at 11:22 PM. House on hill road. Subscribe t...
