The Brooks Bunch

http://www.thebrooksbunch.com/regatta.php

The First-Ever Brooks Bunch Cardboard Boat Regatta. Six boys. A big collection of cardboard boxes. Duct tape, zip ties (thank you, Cook family for the zip ties and. The great idea), safety utility knives, and scissors. Four very cool boats, and four young pilots. Danny won the race, followed by his brother William (but not closely). Tom and Ethan has to drag their sodden creations to shore, but they persevered and won their places in cardboard boat history. And, most importantly, everyone had a good time!

Gordon's Family Blog: July 2014

http://gordonbrooks.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Gordon's news and views from the world of The Brooks Bunch. Monday, July 28, 2014. It remains to be seen if my boys will devote enough of that to create some amazing movies. I’ll let you know. Posted by Gordon Brooks. Tuesday, July 22, 2014. My run in Pittsfield is done. The set is gone, the cast party is past, and goodbyes have been said. I'll miss my Pittsfield Players theater family. But it's time to get back to home projects before New Hampshire's winter creeps up on me. Posted by Gordon Brooks.

Gordon's Family Blog: July 2015

http://gordonbrooks.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Gordon's news and views from the world of The Brooks Bunch. Monday, July 20, 2015. The month-old picture of William following his graduation is brought to you by yesterday's thunderstorm, which knocked out our Internet service, though fortunately not our power. We've taken some of our favorite excursions, to the Castle In the Clouds, to some of the local ice cream makers, to Connecticut, where we visited the submarine museum and Fort Griswold and some fun eateries. Karen's trailer is also on the agenda f...

http://gordonbrooks.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Gordon's news and views from the world of The Brooks Bunch. Friday, August 08, 2014. Curse Of the Blue Tongue. There it was again yesterday: Danny's blue tongue! As you can see by the new pictures, we spent yesterday at York Beach, at the amusement park, at also at the park near the Nubble lighthouse. Because of the rain, no one actually got to go to the beach, but we did sit and watch the sunset at Nubble, and we found an ice cream place we hadn't been to before. Posted by Gordon Brooks.

Gordon's Family Blog: Endless Summer? Luckily, No.

http://gordonbrooks.blogspot.com/2015/08/endless-summer-luckily-no.html

Gordon's news and views from the world of The Brooks Bunch. Sunday, August 16, 2015. Summer vacation is coming to a close, and the clock is ticking. Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to sending William and Daniel back to school and actually getting some work done, but there is a lot to do before the end of the summer. So once I do get the go-ahead, I really have to go ahead. Concrete, posts, beams, joists, rails, decking, stair stringers. Yikes! It's going to be a busy couple of weeks. As I sai...

Gordon's Family Blog: March 2014

http://gordonbrooks.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Gordon's news and views from the world of The Brooks Bunch. Thursday, March 27, 2014. Okay Spring is now a week old. Winter is over. But you can't tell looking out my window. The back yard is still completely covered with snow, and although there are puddles of water in the driveway, they are surrounded by a thick sheet of ice, and they, too, will turn to ice overnight. This is what passes for Spring in New Hampshire. Winter, that we are just that more anxious to bid it good riddance. But there's no sens...

Gordon's news and views from the world of The Brooks Bunch. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Before I retire to bed for the last time in 2014, I want to take a moment to wish everyone reading my blog a happy and healthy 2015, full of love and laughter. We're going to do our best to make this a special year. If you keep visiting our site, you'll be able to find out how we made out. 2014 went fairly well for us, but there's always room for improvement. Posted by Gordon Brooks. Gordon's Family Blog: April 2015

http://gordonbrooks.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Gordon's news and views from the world of The Brooks Bunch. Friday, April 24, 2015. A Day to Dye For. He dyed his hair purple. When he first came to me with the idea, I had only three concerns. One is that we make sure to do it safely, since dyeing dark hair like William's requires bleaching it first. The second was that we do it without making a mess. And the third was that we actually made sure we had enough time to do it. Oh, how did I feel about my son having purple hair? How did it turn out? Posted ...

Gordon's news and views from the world of The Brooks Bunch. Monday, August 31, 2015. There were no rails on the deck, but it is big enough at about 9X10 feet that we all felt safe sitting on it, except Tom who decided to eat by the window, close enough for conversation but not hanging out eight feet above the ground. Thomas made a delicious chocolate pie, and William made some rich chocolate fudge. Notice a theme here? All-in-all, while we didn't get the deck done, I think we gave Karen a nice birthday.

http://gordonbrooks.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Gordon's news and views from the world of The Brooks Bunch. Friday, June 12, 2015. You might have noticed that the boys have been missing from the daily pictures for the past few days. This is because they have been away from home. William went on a three-day hiking and camping trip, and Daniel on an overnight stay at the Museum of Science in Boston. Posted by Gordon Brooks. Galena Summit pics 29 years apart. Camping over the 4th of July. For the 4th of July, we headed up to the Stanley basin with Brad and Angie to camp for a few days. It was packed! And we didn't roll in until about 11 pm. We drove around for an hour and a half (and had to back the trailer out of a precarious spot.ugh), but finally found a spot right on the Salmon River. Posing in front of the Sawtooths. Eating a Fiber 1 bar (which Clara calls five-year-old bar - stinkin' cute). Family shot at the top.

Just about our family! Wednesday, December 3, 2014. Olivia had her Christmas list ready about a week ago. She's been chomping at the bit to get it out to Santa. Her list included Flipeez (ridiculous winter hats you can only buy at Walgreens), Mooshka doll, doll stroller, shopping cart, a cash register and scanner. That is too hard." I told her we would work on it together but I needed her to start thinking of something she would like. Have you been good? To which she smiled and nodded a huge YES! I'm rea...
