Tuesday - Saturday: 10am-6pm. The Budding Artichoke grew out of the store called Swedebread. Both Kari and Linda worked for Swedebread prior to becoming the owners of The Budding Artichoke. When Lena Vesterlund, owner of Swedebread, announced she wanted to focus on baking, Kari and Linda determined that losing such a store would be a sad loss for the community it served, so they pooled their resources and bought Lena out. To see which breads will be delivered today. Aunt Helen Rye and Wheat.

The Budding Anthropologist

Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Last day of class. Anticlimactic would be one word to describe it. Maybe familiar. The last day of 'class' in our one room corner of the Spinhuis in Amsterdam felt quite impossibly the ending to a long year of anthropological digging-in. It's not an ending, but a beginning to the formation of an anthropologist, actually. For, while classes have officially ended, our work has just been planted. The class has ended, but school is just beginning. The formation of an anthropologist.

Editing, editing…and more editing! Just a quick update. I’ve recently ‘finished’ my book, I use that term. Loosely. I have started my editing process. I’ve contacted someone who is very good at this stuff and it seems I need to double the content. So the book isn’t coming for a while! But I’m trying my best! As always, please like/follow/comment. I am just giving a quick update on my writing! The book ‘The Struggle’ is going great! So well in fact that it’s taking me longer than I first anticipated!

The Budding Baker

Wednesday, August 19, 2009. I totally have the habit of trying to comfort people with food. When people tell me about hard days they've had or strenuous situations at work, my first inclination is to fix them whatever food stuffs would make them happiest. I've done everything from toast to caramel rolls to homemade pasta. I go a little crazy. 2 kinds of brownies, fudge, cookies etc.I even made Mole and a fantastic chocolate bbq sauce. To try and stretch peoples imagination a little. On the whole, I think...
