For example, Stargardt's Disease is not Usher Syndrome (total blindness and deafness). Stargardt's disease is not Alzheimer's Disease, a brain tumor, or a death sentence. Sunday, September 22, 2013. Mom had an unusual pillow. She preferred a small pillow made of squishy down feathers. She said that was the kind she had growing up. Anyway, it always smelled just like Georgio perfume (just like her). So if she were gone and I missed her, I would hop in her bed and squish her pillow in my face and it would be comforting to me. Sunday, September 15, 2013. The Bus is Coming. A few weeks ago we explained to Nicky that she has a disease in the back of her eyes that will make it harder for her to see when she gets older. She asked, "how hard? I said, "I don't know.". There were a few questions about who I'd told and if she'd be able to read and then it was over. She was asking questions about school the next day and lamenting a forgotten signature on her homework. So that was it! There were no tears and it was not a big deal.

Monday, December 19, 2011. Darth Vader - Out of the Book of Mormon. We were driving around town in the van today and Andy piped up from the back and said, "whoever made those Star Wars movies got the whole story from the Book of Mormon. There is fighting just like the Book of Mormon. Darth Vader was a Lamanite who turned into a Nephite.".
