The Burnses at 6101: The Current State of the Bookcase

http://theburnsesat6101.blogspot.com/2015/03/baby-no-blogging.html

See more of Silas! See pictures from 2016. See pictures from 2015. See pictures from 2014. The Current State of the Bookcase. Baby = no blogging. Well, more precisely, baby = no home improvements = no blogging. I did manage to spend an hour or so this afternoon sprucing up our bookcase. And now, back to a baby who really doesn't want to nap today. :) Hope to blog (/get back to home improvements) before another eight months goes by! March 1, 2015 at 8:50 PM. The Burnses at 6101: Nursery Pictures!

http://theburnsesat6101.blogspot.com/2014/06/nursery-pictures.html

See more of Silas! See pictures from 2016. See pictures from 2015. See pictures from 2014. Well, like all projects in our home, it's *almost* done. But it's done enough to share pictures! I'll try to keep the commentary to a minimum. Most of the pictures speak for themselves anyway. Let's start with the most obvious nursery thing: the crib. My parents got us the crib and mattress. The cute fox blanket is from Isaac's parents. It's so soft! The cute pillow came from my bestie, Beth. Isaac worked so hard o...

See more of Silas! See pictures from 2016. See pictures from 2015. See pictures from 2014. Ok, so I haven't made an official blog announcement . but that seems fitting, since I've been such a terrible blogger lately. So here it is: I'm pregnant! I'm due on June 26. We're ecstatic. I have created three mood boards. One that's pretty neutral, one that leans a bit more towards 'boy' and one that leans a bit more towards 'girl.' I'm not set on any of them, though, so who knows where we'll end up! Oh, and the...

The Burnses at 6101: Updates! Bookcase, Window Seat, Small Nursery Updates and the Guest Room

See more of Silas! See pictures from 2016. See pictures from 2015. See pictures from 2014. Bookcase, Window Seat, Small Nursery Updates and the Guest Room. Baby Watch 2014 is ongoing. Silas is now three days late and counting. I have crossed off everything on my Pre-baby To-do List, and everything on the If-I-have-time Pre-baby To-do List, and even everything on the I'm-now-wasting-time Pre-baby To-do List. I know this is a good thing - we are as prepared as we can be (I hope! The only structural thing m...

bethabee: Tuesday Thoughts

http://www.bethabee.com/2014/03/tuesday-thoughts.html

Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Just 15 minutes ago I was snuggled up on the couch with Lucy watching TV. I didn't want to get up and do the dishes. I didn't want to take my makeup off or brush my teeth. I didn't want to charge my phone (which was at 3%). I just wanted to lay there and be comfortable and snuggle with her. That big of a deal - but I could do better. And for not that much more effort. And for greater happiness in the end. Fact: My favorite punctuation mark is the semicolon. Want to know more?

http://www.bethabee.com/2014/01/thoughtfulness-towel-hook-edition.html

Thoughtfulness [Towel Hook Edition]. Sunday, January 26, 2014. I like reading friends' blogs for little life updates. One of the hardest parts about being away from people you love, in my opinion, is missing out on the little stories about their days. So this is a quick story about checking the mail on Saturday and my sweet mother in law. We have W&B hooks on the back of our bathroom door on which to hang our towels. [Apartment renters, listen up - it's the little things! SHOP 'TIL YOU DROP.

http://www.bethabee.com/2013/01/dont-leave-me-kari-edition.html

Wednesday, January 9, 2013. I mentioned in my last post that all of my friends have moved away. Such is life in Louisville, KY when it comes to school. It's a transient community around these parts. We've been here for almost six years now (hard to believe! A dear friend is moving at the end of this month, and it's impossible to say how much I'm going to miss her. I've mentioned Kari before. Oh goodness. Way to make me cry! January 9, 2013 at 2:53 PM. Fact: My favorite punctuation mark is the semicolon&#...

bethabee: Thoughts on Friendship

http://www.bethabee.com/2014/07/thoughts-on-friendship.html

Saturday, July 5, 2014. I've been wanting to sort out some thoughts lately - thoughts on friendship. I have a history with hard friendships. It started in fifth grade at Wiles Hill Elementary School in Morgantown, WV. One day my best friend handed me a note at recess and ran away. Confused, I opened it, and I cried as I read. She told me in few and pointed words that I was bossy and that our friendship was over. I asked. "I've needed you. I don't need late anniversary sentiments now." Later t...She ignor...

bethabee: March Update

http://www.bethabee.com/2014/03/march-update.html

Saturday, March 8, 2014. I remember when I used to update my blog almost every day. Lately I've had such a hard time balancing my digital life. There's facebook to keep up with, blogs to read, Instagram, etc. I have to live in the real world, too! I kind of stopped reading blogs when Google Reader died last July. But I don't want to abandon mine completely. It's fun to keep up with far-away friends by checking their blogs and seeing what they're up to. Team McDreamy. He's so handsome. 6 I'm reading the D...
