The Odds Are One: July 2013
http://theoddsareone.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
The Odds Are One. Phenomena observed occur with 100% probability. Monday, July 08, 2013. Well, They've Seen Us". Back in March, Randall Munroe posted to his webcomic, XKCD. Ofttimes a deep knowledge of coding, science-fiction/fantasy tropes, and/or general nerd culture are required to have any idea where lies the humor. And then there are the big things: a subway map of all of North America. A drag-able map of an enormous world of which the viewer can only see a tiny part at any one time. An initial read...

The Odds Are One: And The Worst Part Is, I Never Learned How To Read
http://theoddsareone.blogspot.com/2010/03/and-worst-part-is-i-never-learned-how.html
The Odds Are One. Phenomena observed occur with 100% probability. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. And The Worst Part Is, I Never Learned How To Read. Do you get tired while reading? Yep All my life. I'd never really noticed the first thing until Mrs. Transient Gadfly pointed out that I close one eye when reading in bed, which was apparently my main compensation mechanism (it works only passingly well, as I fall asleep almost comically fast while reading anyway). Are these two things related? The Odds Are One.

This weekend, a thing I would never have done had I not been just desperate to see the place. COE. Sure Both with the same names? Um, no. It’s not just that this company managed to make the play palatable and entertaining. It wasn’t good in spite of its material. It was just brilliant. Brilliant. To attract a more diverse crowd?

The Odds Are One: It's a "Metaphor"
http://theoddsareone.blogspot.com/2006/04/its-metaphor.html
The Odds Are One. Phenomena observed occur with 100% probability. Tuesday, April 04, 2006. What is blogging like. I mean this question to be framed in the recurring theme of modern life about which I blog. After that you can dismiss it. If ones operating theory is that something that seemed like an utterly new phenomenon was in fact the natural evolution of an old one, that the new one had simply grown out of the old one, what was blogging before it was blogging? G - please defend that thesis. Okay, sure...

The Odds Are One: Jos Claerbout
http://theoddsareone.blogspot.com/2005/06/jos-claerbout.html
The Odds Are One. Phenomena observed occur with 100% probability. Tuesday, June 14, 2005. Today, Flag Day, is my friend Jos'. Birthday. The morning of August 20th, 1999, Jos got up, went to the gym to lift weights, and then biked to the offices of WebTV, in Mountain View, California, where he worked. A few minutes later he was dead of a heart attack. Today he'd be 31. Do a Google Search of his name. Which compares object-oriented code to a trashy western novel, and has been reprinted all over the web.

Laurie Frankel, Author: Thrust Upon 'Em
http://lauriefrankel.blogspot.com/2011/04/thrust-upon-em.html
Laurie Frankel, Author. Friday, April 22, 2011. Anyway, tomorrow's event is less me, more performance, more wine, more friends, more Shakespeare - a good combo. Actors will be performing chapter two of The Atlas of Love. And though I'll be there to help, I won't be the main attraction. There will be other actors, other books and readers, plus music from my fabulously talented husband. Plus lots of wine, plus Shakespeare's birthday. I defy you to think of a cooler event. Many cheers to Debut Lit.
