The Catholic Path: 06/01/2009 - 07/01/2009

http://thecatholicpath.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 16, 2009. When I was in grade 5 The Gideons gave us a Bible with the New Testament and the Psalms in it. I remember reading the 23 Psalm once and finding the 22 Psalm. I realized the parallel between The Passion of Jesus Christ and that Psalm right away. Last night I was reading it again and was drawn again to the parallels. I am left wondering if the Psalmist realized what was to come? Did God inspire him with a vision of The Passion? Removed him from the cross alive? Sunday, June 14, 2009.

Monday, November 16, 2009. My baby is doing her first confession this month. We've worked through the book together and she has a retreat coming up at school this week about it. It was a wonderful learning opportunity for me. I've explained confession numerous times to adults but it's different with children. She asked the usual questions but it was difficult to word it in a way a seven year old can understand. I know she's grasped the concept and will make a wonderful confession when the time comes.

The Catholic Path: Todays Gospel

http://thecatholicpath.blogspot.com/2010/04/todays-gospel.html

Thursday, April 08, 2010. As I read the bible readings for today I wondered how I would have reacted. As a nurse I would find it hard without scientific answers on to how it happened. Don't know if I was there if I could swallow it. It is easy for me to accept now and today. I've learned it all my life, never questioned it, it's a matter of faith. But if it actually happened how would I be. I'm sure I would be the first one to feel the wounds and see the bones. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen. Sunday, January 18, 2009. It was great timing because I've been thinking of those things myself and how the whole basis of desire, want, envy can have such terrible results in our lives. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Ostritch Tracks. My Catholic Walk. Often tending to bury my head in the sand.but trying to become closer to Our Lord every day! February 18, 2011. Caring Family and Friends. On the 8th of this month I went innocently out to get our mail and was down our driveway just to where it drops off to the street when low and behold, I had a very violent twisting of my right ankle, tried to stay upright with my left ankle, which I then twisted as well, and down I went like a rock! I was praying for someone to come b...

Ostritch Tracks. My Catholic Walk. Often tending to bury my head in the sand.but trying to become closer to Our Lord every day! February 04, 2011. Today I browsed some of the newest Catholic blogs and two in particular struck a cord with me. One is Little Steps Along the Way. And the other one which was equally inspiring is My Prayer Journal. Both written with such heart felt sincerity that one would have to be very hard hearted indeed, not to be moved by them. I just don't know. View my complete profile.

Ostritch Tracks. My Catholic Walk. Often tending to bury my head in the sand.but trying to become closer to Our Lord every day! June 10, 2009. Lately I've been in a rut of sorts.that is, although I pray nightly as well as in the mornings, my prayers are always basically the same ones and although they are said devoutly and with awareness, I feel as though it's time to add more. How does one go about doing this? Should I read my bible more often, but then, how do I understand what much of it means?

Ostritch Tracks. My Catholic Walk. Often tending to bury my head in the sand.but trying to become closer to Our Lord every day! February 22, 2009. That Old Time Religion. I've been wishing very deeply that there might be a Tridentine Mass at a parish near my neck of the woods, but not so. I miss the Latin mass of old with the altar facing the faithful and the communion rail that we all knelt down on to receive the body and blood of Our Lord with such reverence.
