5th Day of the Snow Moon | The Cave Behind The Waterfall
https://thecavebehindthewaterfall.com/2017/01/02/5th-day-of-the-snow-moon
The Cave Behind The Waterfall. A Retreat into Nature and Walking. 5th Day of the Snow Moon. January 2, 2017. Here is another take on the name of this “first” moon, which I have dubbed Snow Moon. This is a few lines from Hal Borland, one of my favorite outdoor writers. 8230;The Wolf Moon, they called it, listening to the howl of the pack in the Winter valleys. And the howl I hear tonight will be the wolf howl of the wind in those same valleys, the primal forces at work in the Winter world. For some of us,...

The Cave Behind The Waterfall. A Retreat into Nature and Walking. December 30, 2016. December 30, 2016. For some of us, the grind of day-to-day living can be like standing under a waterfall, taking the punishment of the deluge from high. We regularly need a refuge – a retreat. All this takes is to step into the cave behind the waterfall. There we can rest and heal before having to return to the torrent. My hope is that this site becomes a place where you can take refuge. It will for me, at the least.

The Cave Behind The Waterfall. A Retreat into Nature and Walking. 4th Day of the Snow Moon. January 1, 2017. January 1, 2017. My Facebook status update yesterday went like this “Umm…New year’s was like December 21st, wasn’t it? 8221; You know, the winter solstice marking the longest night of the year. The longer days marking the start of a new year. I got one reaction to it. Maybe this time, because I’ve paid attention to the natural cycle, they will bear fruit. 8211; Casey Harn. 3rd Day of the Snow Moon.

The Cave Behind The Waterfall. A Retreat into Nature and Walking. 2nd Day of the Snow Moon. December 30, 2016. December 30, 2016. We do not need to see how quickly we can get from Point A to Point B. There does not need to be a purpose the rest of the world needs to understand. Put your hands in your pockets and take a slow and mindful walk. Have a look around. Feel the wind and smell the air. Breathe. 8211; Casey Harn. 3rd Day of the Snow Moon →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Of Brambles and Bears. The extra bits.(Under construction). Thursday, 27 November 2014. I received several comments upon my whinging post of the other day and one from a friend from across the pond, Mark. Gave me an inner smile as I contemplated his words. ". A friend in Missouri once told me that if we hadn't done what we did when we were younger, we wouldn't be in the shape we're in today. But hey, back then we were bulletproof. So now this five and a half foot tall, already instilled with a short fuse...

Of Brambles and Bears. The extra bits.(Under construction). Saturday, 11 April 2015. Wildlife Garden update . A very good afternoon peeps and I hope that everything is well in the blogosphere with you all. I admit to have been staying under the radar a tad of late, just having some time to collect my thoughts and what better ways to do this than gardening and walking where dark thoughts seem to slowly melt away as nature caresses your soul. Not exactly a defined boundary for the TT's yet. So back to the ...

Of Brambles and Bears. The extra bits.(Under construction). Monday, 9 March 2015. Wildlife garden and rewilding. Cyclamen, almost done. Lungwort, soon to be tempting Bee's I hopes. Purple Elder showing promise of it's glorious foliage to come (Also flowers are major insect attraction). Old climber with a new lease of life. Either that or I get myself a new camera which will probably happen well after Hell freezes over, as Simple Red put it."money's too tight to mention". Bee hotel open for business.

Of Brambles and Bears. The extra bits.(Under construction). Thursday, 26 March 2015. Wildlife Garden, Newts and Nettles . Good day ladies and gentlemen and I hope that I find you all in fine fettle. Tis been a busy week for moi in one way or another to say the very least, in fact I haven't had time to fart, pardon the expression! Where I work the factory is a desert for wildlife with now close cropped grass where once there was a budding meadow and large areas of concrete. Finally I have new visitors who...

Of Brambles and Bears. The extra bits.(Under construction). Tuesday, 27 January 2015. Tis the simple things that keep the Black dog from my mind, like in the unlit snug watching the flame nymphs dancing on my open fire keeping the winter cold outside where it belongs. Until the next time, take care. Saturday, 24 January 2015. A workshop/shed for yours truly. Somewhere to sit in privacy. A place to park and work upon automobiles. A pond for fish. A place to dry washing. Has to be tranquil, very tranquil.

Of Brambles and Bears. The extra bits.(Under construction). Sunday, 17 May 2015. Well after my last post it would appear that there are many like minded people as myself, that is to say grumpy buggers, who'd have thought it! Fortunately today's walk around Nercwys Forest was uninterrupted by people, well fortunately for other people I suppose. I'm afraid that 'Bramble the Mud Siren' failed in her mission and 'Nelly the Dry' survived unsoaked. Not a pleasure walk at all! Tomorrow evening m'thinks. But...

Thursday, August 25, 2005. I may be back but probably not. Take care, everyone. Posted by T.C. at 8/25/2005. Sunday, August 14, 2005. I woke up last night at 2:30 with an idea. Turning on the light, I fumbled for my ever-present notebook and pen, and I wrote. It's called "The In-Between Places." Heh- after all that agonizing I did over what I'd write about, I never thought it'd be this. I guess there's something to that saying about finding what you need right when you're not looking for it. So maybe I d...
