What’s in a name. What’s in a name. A joint (junction of two or more parts or objects) in the case of this blog, is what connects me and my clinical experiences as a physiotherapy student. Join me in experiencing clinical practice from the viewpoint of a physiotherapist in the making…. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. What’s in a name. Monthly Archives: April 2013. Western Cape Rehabilitation Centre. April 28, 2013. The blog has been relatively quiet over the past 5 weeks and I can credit clinicals for keeping me that busy! This past week I had finished my block at Western Cape Rehabilitation Centre (WCRC known to most) and what an amazing 5 weeks! I remember doing a blog post the night before I dawned on this particular block, being so scared and fearing what was to come. So a little bit on the the Centre itself.

About | The Joint Adventures
https://thejointadventures.wordpress.com/about
What’s in a name. Is the diary of. A final year Physiotherapy student at the University of the Western Cape. Being my last year of study (God willing), I have decided to blog about my experiences on clinical practice. The blog will also act as my year portfolio for a subject called Ethics. I hope that through my blogging experiences, other physiotherapy students from all over may learn a thing or two, or even just share in on my experiences. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. What’s in a name. Fear of the unknown. Western Cape Rehabilitation Centre →. April 8, 2013. The other day I came across this picture quote while on the net and I thought I’d write something on it. In my first post I spoke about there being ‘way too many conditions in the world’ and with that being said, it is merely impossible to be taught all of these conditions during lectures. So, learning from the next person becomes so important. Have that mini heart attack of not knowing what I’m doing the next tim...

What’s in a name. Physiotherapist vs. Biokineticist. Public Transport for Disabled →. A hand to hold. June 9, 2013. It’s theory period now (as I do not write mid year examinations) so I am able to reflect on my past block and the experiences I’ve encountered without being as drained as I was over the previous five weeks, both mentally and physically. And I still feel bad about it. I know it shouldn’t be such a big deal, I just wish that there were more time for patient care in this sense, instead o...

What’s in a name. Monthly Archives: June 2013. Public Transport for Disabled. June 14, 2013. I don’t know if any of you have come across the lack of transportation for disabled individuals. It’s something that I’ve never really taken into consideration until recently. Working at a rehabilitation center, I have seen that the need/demand for public transportation for disabled people is actually bigger than what it might seem to some. I’ve researched this topic as it was something I wanted to look int...

What’s in a name. Half way there, Read on…. Learn from others →. Fear of the unknown. March 26, 2013. This week, my new adventure begins as I start a new clinical rotation at a well known rehabilitation center in Cape Town. With that being said, there was this one little surfer who caught my attention, so fearless in the way he prepared himself to take on a wave. He had the kind of attitude towards succeeding I wish most people had. Every time he went in and got knocked off his board, he’d ...Looking at ...
