Call of the Highlands. Close to the campsite, the large prefabricated steel shed once hosted the deisel generators that provided power to the camp and parts of Strathglass while the construction work was ongoing. In the lower half of Strathglass, the main settlement is around the village of Struy at the entrance to Glen Strathfarrar. A short distance away is Erchless Castle, last seat of the Clan Chisholm. Nearby the Clan Chisholm burial ground holds the remains of many Clan chiefs.

Isle of Lewis Descendants. Thursday, May 22, 2008. I descend from Malcolm Morrison, born 1811, son of Murdo. Malcolm married Kirsty Graham and in 1863, they and their children were evicted, when North Galson was "cleared" to make room for sheep. They settled in Goderich, Huron County, Ontario. There are two MacLeay families that I have researched and it seems that they are not related, but I am related to both. John's eldest son Allan, b. 1822, married Ann MacDonald and together they had 10 children. Allan and family lived on Con. 7, Lot 26 in Huron Township. John's son George, b. 1825, married Ann MacIver, the sister of my great grandmother. Colin and Ann Macleay are my 3rd great grandparents.
