Anyway once I found suitable places to mount the fuel filters and fuel pump I started bending the steel tube. I went through 2 sets of cheap tubing benders from O'reilly before I decide it was just going to be easier to bend by hand. Luckily I only had to make around 4 bends to get it shaped right. With the go-kart stage compete and everything working great it was time to get the body re attached to the chassis. I opted not to have any of the holes cut in the body by the manufacturer so I got out the body saw and went to town cutting holes for the headlights, turn signals, and taillights. With those holes cut, I reinstalled the body.

With engine breakin done and a heat cycle on the engine it was time to check torque on engine fasteners. When I pulled on the valve covers I found that one of the push rods had come out of it's cup on the rocker. :( Totally did not expect to find that since it ran so great during the breakin. There are simply no words to describe it. Wednesday, August 01, 2007. My plane is finally done. I finally finished building my RC plane. I got the kit in February of 06' for Valentines day so it's been about a year and a half to make it. Now let's hope I don't crash it the first time out. For those interested, it's a Great Planes 40 size Cap 232 kit. It came out a little tail heavy so I ended up adding 4oz in the cowl to compensate. I'm using an OS .46AX engine and Futaba electronics.

This is a group of about 200 cars that meet in Reno and Sparks Nevada every year. The group is mostly made up of Shelby Cobra replicas along with a few GT40 replicas. I used PCBArtist to create the schematic and board layout for free. Then I just printed the layout on the press'n peel sheets to form the top and bottom layers. I was thinking I could load up the bike with camping gear and just hit campsites the whole way. It'd be rough, and I'd probably be tired of it after 3 or 4 days, but what better way to see the country?
