Gabrielle Aquilina: I'm back and querying again!
http://gabrielleaquilina.blogspot.com/2014/02/im-back-and-querying-again.html
Wednesday, 26 February 2014. I'm back and querying again! So, the last few months have been a bit rubbish for me BUT I have had a partial request from an agent which is a real confidence boost and makes me believe I can do it. Even if she ultimately rejects my ms, at least she has confirmed that my writing isn't completely horrible. Anna know how I got this much appreciated request? Ah, the power of social media. If you aren't on it, you need to be. There's always someone tweeting an interesting. Boy, it...

Gabrielle Aquilina: It's waaaaay too cold to write a query letter
http://gabrielleaquilina.blogspot.com/2012/02/its-waaaaay-too-cold-to-write-query.html
Friday, 3 February 2012. It's waaaaay too cold to write a query letter. I don't think my brain really functions properly in cold weather. My fingers certainly don't and I can't afford to have the heating on during the day (don't worry, Lady M is dressed up like an Alaskan tree surgeon in the dead of winter). Still, I have struggled on towards my goal of SUBMISSION. I had a list (of course) of submission to-dos:. Write a 25 word hook. Write a query letter pitch paragraph. Write a one page synopsis. 160;So...

Haven't we all been here - resisting an ex that we KNOW is bad news but are drawn to nevertheless? Also Nashville is frickin' awesome. You should all be watching it. Thursdays, Channel 4, 10pm. I sort of love country music now but don't hold that against Nashville. That's all on me. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Pearl Jam. No more words needed. Writing Process Blog Tour!

A Writer's Life. The unfocused abstractions of an unpublished author. Skip to primary content. October 25, 2013. Thou Shalt Join a Writing Group. And Thou Shalt Take Time to Find the Right Group for You. And Lo! Thine Words Shall Flow. Ahem Yes. The third rule is that you get feedback on your work before showing it to the people who matter. What was the Bloomsbury group but a way of exchanging ideas and feedback in a London ripe with zeitgeist? Well, I’d be curious to know how you’re reading this, but an...

Things to smile about.

Gabrielle Aquilina: Winter Solstice in Perth
http://gabrielleaquilina.blogspot.com/2012/06/winter-solstice-in-perth.html
Monday, 25 June 2012. Winter Solstice in Perth. It was Winter Solstice here in Perth the other day and the weather was rather obligingly non-English. Hooray for lots of reasons, one being laundry and another being outside play for Lady M. The Chardmeister decided to take the day off from his current stay-at-home dad status and. Now, I realise I am, as usual, late to the party with both these books but given the smallness of the fiction section and their seeming inclination towards the crime genre, these ...
