We only had one day in Brasov, and spent a fair amount of that time recovering from our bumpy night train, but here is what we liked about it:. 8211; the hilltop castle is free to enter and gives great views of the city. 8211; there are nice parks and gardens around the centre of the city, with tables complete with chessboards.

We waited in the small border town of Valea Lui Mihai for about an hour, impatiently wondering when we would arrive at Valea Lui Mare. These haystacks are EVERYWHERE.
