Some people have lives; some people have music. Monthly Archives: June 2013. In My Thoughts and in My Words. June 23, 2013. I have been reading Plato’s. Lately. Why have I been reading. Because it has to do with cosmology, including a heavy component of music. It’s Plato’s take on the Pythagorean world view. This is extremely interesting for the history of the Western (European-derived) music. More on this later. So, please Lord, let my words do no harm, and maybe a little good, if that is your will.

About | A Quiet Evening
https://ttburnett.wordpress.com/about
Some people have lives; some people have music. Welcome to my personal blog. It is the result of an unaccountable urge to see myself in print. It is doubtless a manifestation of the Sin of Pride. The internet has proven, however, to be its own penance. As a result, you need not worry about the state of my soul. It comes pre-scourged. I try to sidestep responsibility on the internet by claiming unimportance. As a result, this blog consists mostly in nonsense and meandering speculation. Hats Off, Gentlemen.

The meaning of the text is hard to make out, being in a Venetian dialect and of a generic 18th century cast, but an approximation might be that if you blow the trumpet of Fame, even deservedly and with great heart, you can incur envy for all ages. Some people have lives; some people have music. Looking for Fame in All the New Places →. Raquo; Another Entrance. June 23, 2013. Here I am, blogging again. Same old name. Same Queen of the Night. I think of her as my patroness. Some say she stands for the Virgin Mary in Mozart’s Masonic symbolism. That’s fine with me. This entry was posted in Uncategorized.
