This is the home page of Matthew Young. I'm currently a PhD student at the Institute of Astronomy under the supervision of Cathie Clarke. My research is currently focused on understanding the behaviour of massive discs of dust around young stars. I am particularly interested in understanding the conditions necessary for such a disc to break up into bound objects (planets, brown dwarfs, low mass stars). See the research page.
