Minnesota Musings: April 2009
http://semnmusings.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 30, 2009. It's been a long time. I know, I know. It has been forever since I've blogged. And it has almost been so long I don't even know where to start. So what have we been doing? Well, in April we went to the homeschool. Ellie and Kara's birthdays are only 5 days apart in November and we usually spend a night in a hotel with a water park. For several years we went to the Holiday Inn in Owatonna. But this past fall, since the older girls were outgrowing that water park. Here are the gir...

Minnesota Musings: December 2009
http://semnmusings.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 20, 2009. In other news, we are expecting a baby come early to mid June. And it looks like I'm on track to gain 50 pounds with this one too. I put on 50 pounds with each pregnancy but it always comes off after thanks to Weight Watchers. I'm pretty sure my metabolism changes when I'm pregnant and any carbs. He and his family left for Mexico for 3 1/2 weeks and asked if we wanted to borrow their snowblower. Our driveway and sidewalk when necessary. I love having great neighbors! I am wife ...

Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Hiking in the Smokies. Monday was a gorgeous day with lots of sunshine so we decided to do a little hiking in the Smokies. One of the great things about the Smoky Mountain National Park is that the entrance is free! For our first hike we chose a trail that ran right next to a river the whole way. It was beautiful! Here is what the trail looked like the whole way. The river is just to the left of the path. There were several waterfalls along the path. Here is one of them:.

Minnesota Musings: Ice Cream Recipes
http://semnmusings.blogspot.com/2009/09/ice-cream-recipes.html
Friday, September 18, 2009. I recently got a book. From the library with different ice cream, sorbet and granita. Recipes. I wrote a few down that I wanted to try and this week we made the combination below. They are two different recipes but after they were both made, I layered them in a container so that when they were scooped they were swirled. The combo was delicious! Toasted Coconut Ice Cream. 1 c dried, shredded coconut, preferably unsweetened (I used regular since I didn't have any unsweetened).

Minnesota Musings: January 2009
http://semnmusings.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 30, 2009. I recently went down to Scottsdale to get some sunshine and warmth and it was wonderful! Dan was working down there for two weeks so at the prodding of some friends (who graciously volunteered to watch our kiddos), I went down for a few days. Sorry, vent over. We went back to the hotel room and I took some Tylenol, had a shower and got some fresh air. I felt much better. After I'd returned to normal, we went out for supper at The White Chocolate Grill. So after having cheese on ...

http://semnmusings.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 25, 2009. It is almost the end of February and winter will still be around for quite awhile yet. In fact, they are predicting six inches of snow on Thursday. But we are all ready for winter to be over- even Dan who commented that maybe we should move to Phoenix (not that he'd be liking that decision in the middle of the summer there)! Mix and a row of flowers. Kara is going to plant carrots, peas and a row of flowers. Here they are adding up the cost of the seeds:. 3 carrots, shredded.

Wednesday, March 11, 2009. Cream Cheese Tomato Soup. The season for soups! Here is another one of our favorites from Dining in the Spirit of Naniboujou. Cream Cheese Tomato Soup. 1/2 cup finely diced onions. 6 ounces cream cheese. 2 cans (11 oz each) condensed tomato soup. 2 cans (14 oz each) diced tomatoes, with juice. Monday, March 9, 2009. Unfortunately I didn't bring the camera. I figured there wasn't really any point since there were four children who didn't know how to skate, one adult who real...

Minnesota Musings: August 2009
http://semnmusings.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 20, 2009. The other night I was reading a food blog and it linked to a website. I had never heard of. Since it mentioned that it was a website that was specifically devoted to food photos and they had a certain criteria that needed to be met, I hopped on over there and was awed at all the wonderful photos. In fact, I planned my week's menu from the photos I saw. One of the first photos that caught my eye was for Breakfast Pizza. Sunday, August 9, 2009. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Grape j...
