reaching new heitz: October 2011
http://reachingnewheitz.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 28, 2011. Our first taste of the Outback. September was such a great month - it really will go down in my history as a personal best. With Bunny visiting, a birthday for Caden, good friends around, one on one time with both my mom in Melbourne and my hubby on this trip, and countless other activities that kept us busy, it really was one to remember. Now, I've spoken with several of you who aren't sure what Uluru is. Please read on to discover the heart of Australia. Our little desert oasi...

reaching new heitz: Melbourne
http://reachingnewheitz.blogspot.com/2011/10/melbourne.html
Friday, October 21, 2011. We made dinner reservations at a restaurant on Federation Square called Taxi after reading several places that it was a spot not to be missed on the Melbourne food circuit. And, while the food was pretty good, it didn't make up for the egotistical and aggressive sommelier who was clearly in love with himself and his knowledge of wines. Flinders Street Station at night, on our way home from dinner. Melbourne's City Circle Tram. Part of the National Art Centre. Section and wound o...

reaching new heitz: Well Done, Son
http://reachingnewheitz.blogspot.com/2011/10/well-done-son.html
Sunday, October 16, 2011. Well Done, Son. On the first day of September, Caden received the Wilston Well Done Award for "his approach to school". He has been working hard all year on his letters, phonics and now his reading homework, and we are very proud of his achievements. Hearing his name called - it was a surprise! So, all I have to say is: well done, son. Posted by Heitzmann Jennifer. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm so glad you visited. Y'all come back now! View my complete profile.

reaching new heitz: June-ing Around
http://reachingnewheitz.blogspot.com/2011/10/june-ing-around.html
Monday, October 10, 2011. I'm fighting the urge to literally dump a bunch of photos on here for the month of June, just to help me catch up, so when I typed in the title of this post as "June" I had to stop and remind myself, this is not a sterile school work assignment, this is supposed to be fun! And, while we didn't do a ton of Juneing around in June, we had a few things worth mentioning. They are four year olds. But they did have fun coloring in the American flag print outs I brought with me. View my...

reaching new heitz: Let's Bowl, Let's Bowl, Let's Rock & Roll
http://reachingnewheitz.blogspot.com/2011/10/lets-bowl-lets-bowl-lets-rock-roll.html
Saturday, October 22, 2011. Let's Bowl, Let's Bowl, Let's Rock and Roll. September means it's birthday month for the first child of the family: Caden. So as soon we we got back from Melbourne, we found ourselves in full swing birthday party mode. He decided this year he wanted a bowling party. Funny, when telling his friends' parents, they all asked me "do you mean ten-pin bowling? Overall, it was a huge success. The kids were all this excited and loved the cool dance music they were playing! Our old Cha...

reaching new heitz: June 2011
http://reachingnewheitz.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 3, 2011. If there is one thing I don't ever {EVER! Expect to get used to here in Oz it's the amount of creepy-crawleys and critters we see over here. Not only have I seen things I wish I couldn't identify, but several species that honestly could probably win me a scientific award as well. Here is a sampling of some of our visitors:. And now for the pièce de résistance, the most dreaded of all. It was not huge, but regardless, it wasn't around for long! Well, I'm trying but I'm not quite there.

reaching new heitz: August 2011
http://reachingnewheitz.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 2, 2011. The month of April and Easter in Oz. Check out the ears on this guy! He's not so bad. On another weekend we met up with some good friends at our favorite BBQ park - the Kangaroo Point Cliffs. It was a fun afternoon filled with cupcakes, BBQ and another chocolate Easter egg hunt. Ms Brynn giving the kids their goodies. On April 7th, we had another first at our house when Caden lost his very first tooth! They're tiny little things, those pearly whites. Caden and his buddy Andrew.

reaching new heitz: August, and everything after...
http://reachingnewheitz.blogspot.com/2011/10/august-and-everything-after.html
Friday, October 14, 2011. August, and everything after. The month of August 2011 started out like any other month. School, parks, playdates, and a Saturday excursion to the D'Aguilar range with a few of our favorite fellow expat families. Lots of dirt road driving on this trip - not so much actual off-roading. Heitzmanns bringing up the rear. This gorgeous water hole! The view from up here. On our way home. Sometimes these are the best views. Do we look tired? It was only 5:30am. Then on Wednesday, the R...

reaching new heitz: May 2011
http://reachingnewheitz.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 30, 2011. What a blessing it was to have uninterrupted talks, a two-hour breakfast over still hot cappuccinos, and time where our focus could be only on each other! I always find it amazing how after a brief period of not remembering what to talk about other than our kids, we, as a couple, find our way back to being just the two of us, like we were before we had children. It's a magical transformation. Now you can see why we stayed for two bottles of sparkling wine! Obviously this is one of t...
