NotJustAHatStand: I guess this means this is a mommy blog now?
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2014/11/new-record.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. I guess this means this is a mommy blog now? Soo, blog. How the hell are ya? Feeling a tad neglected perhaps? It's been nearly five years since I had a public breakdown over 52p in Sainsbury's. I've been keeping myself busy. We moved house. Then we moved house again. We had a baby. Then we had another baby. Let's see, shall we? Signs off for another 5 years]. Raquo; Post a Comment. Twentysomething bookworm, homebody and lefty from Edinburgh writing abo...

NotJustAHatStand: Domestic, um, Harmony?
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2009/11/written-15th-july-2007-boy-and-i-have.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. Domestic, um, Harmony? Written 15th July 2007. The Boy and I have been a picture of domestic bliss today. We got up early and had coffee and croissants outside in the sunshine, then while I washed the dishes he went to Homebase to buy a edge trimmer. When he came back he mowed the lawn, while I did some weeding and raked up the leaves from the tree in our garden that thinks autumn lasts from October to August. After finishing the kitchen, I go outside ...

NotJustAHatStand: Cheery Bus Man
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2009/11/cheery-bus-man.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. Written 15th February 2007. This morning I was driven to work by what may be the Cheeriest Bus Driver Ever In The World, Ever. I got on, and he trumpeted 'Good Morning Dear! Next stop, Haymarket.'. I don't know if this was some kind of experiment Lothian Buses were doing, combining commuter transport with guided tours, or if this man was just eager to help. Either way, I liked it. But I'm glad he doesn't do that route every day. I wonder if thats that ...

NotJustAHatStand: Night Owl
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2009/11/night-owl.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. Written 20th November 2007. 207 am on Saturday. Other people might be staggering home from the pub, or getting some action. I have just finished one book. And I'm just about to put the light out when I see At Large and At Small: Confessions of a Literary Hedonist. On my bedside table. It's a collection of essays on various topics. I think to myself that I'll just have a quick look at the contents page and see what kind of topics these might be. View my...

NotJustAHatStand: June 2005
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. Saturday, June 18, 2005. I'm a 26 year old from Edinburgh - I've lived in Auld Reekie all my life, and I can't imagine living anywhere else (although I wouldn't rule it out). I live with my fiance and two cats, and spend my time working, reading, drinking tea and dreaming about being a best-selling novelist, but not actually writing said best-selling novel. Twentysomething bookworm, homebody and lefty from Edinburgh writing about, well, anything really...

NotJustAHatStand: A Return Of Sorts
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2008/04/return-of-sorts.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. A Return Of Sorts. Yes, I know it's been months since I posted anything. And I know memes are the lazy blogger's answer to the need to post something (anything). But there was an open invitation at Sarah's. So start as you mean to go on I say:. 1 The rules of the game get posted on the beginning. 2 Each player answers the rules about him or herself. What I was doing ten years ago:. Five things on my To-Do list today:. 4 Becoming fluent in Italian.

NotJustAHatStand: Hm
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2009/07/hm.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. Well, this is new. Ish. I've not posted anything for a long, long time. For no particular reason, other than that I didn't have anything to say (well, that's not strictly true, I didn't have anything that couldn't be said in 140 characters or less), and frankly I just couldn't be arsed. I still don't really, I just felt like dipping my toe in the water again. It may last, it may not. So, in conclusion, nothing much has changed. But thanks for the comme...

NotJustAHatStand: Only In Edinburgh
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2008/08/only-in-edinburgh.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. Nowhere else in the world do you go out for a sandwich at lunchtime and:. Come back with a handful of flyers for shows you'll never go and see. See a dance troupe performing on a traffic island. Get flyered by the star of a show. See a group of people (who are presumably in a show) dressed not only as cats, but as. Specific kinds of cats. Namely Siamese, Persian and Calico). Edinburgh really is a mad place in August. Go see Louis CK. Very interesing.

NotJustAHatStand: May 2006
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. Tuesday, May 23, 2006. I know all my recent posts have been quite negative, but unfortunately today's is too. After a really nice day yesterday (it was my birthday), my mum and I had to endure a particularly unpleasant incident today, that made me sick to my stomach. Afterwards my mum was left with a big red mark where this neanderthal's knuckles had caught her arm. I have never been so angry in all my life. Friday, May 19, 2006. All good so far. I fou...

NotJustAHatStand: Nablopomonopomomo
http://notjustahatstand.blogspot.com/2009/11/nablopomonopomomo.html
People say life is the thing, but I prefer reading*. Oh dear, I'm not doing very well with the old bloggeroo am I? I did intend to post regularly, but well, I didn't. As you can see. I've even missed the start of NaBloPoMo. And (if I can just go off on a tangent here), I'm sorry, but that's just the worst name for a thing, ever. SURELY they could've come up with something better - something that makes a tiny smidge of sense, perhaps? Tales from the draft folder. Raquo; Post a Comment. Twentysomething boo...
