The Crew Chief

News and views from the pit. Saturday, September 4, 2010. Shaking off the Rust. For the first time this year I strapped on my racing gear and turned from support crew into competitor. I got the chance to race alongside my lovely wife as her parents were in town to provide child minding support. It was strange to begin a week considering my own race preparation and not just the role I would/could play to ensure that Christine was in the best shape possible for race day. It was great to race for the enjoym...

The Crew Chief: Learning some new skills - the mechanics of French, the body and bikes

http://thecrewchief.blogspot.com/2010/08/learning-some-new-skills-mechanics-of.html

News and views from the pit. Saturday, August 21, 2010. Learning some new skills - the mechanics of French, the body and bikes. Being true to my personality I have taking the emergent strategy approach to this path of discovery. Arriving in a new country for a holiday is one thing, arriving to set up a new life is another. We knew we were landing ourselves in the deep end chosing to live in a small country town in a country that is very proud of its language and heritage. The Bike Mechanic and Mechanics.

Hi Christine, sorry to post you a message through your boys website but I couldnt find a way of getting in touch with you on yours! I found your blog a few months ago and really enjoy reading it. Jedi Space: February 2011

http://jedispace.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Adventures into the unknown. Monday, February 7, 2011. So the Jedi theme is changing for today, Jedi Jackson has transformed into a medieval regal entity for the day. So, may I introduce to you to Le Roi d'Orange. He is the King of Oranges because, well, he loves oranges. They are his favourite fruit and he eats at least one and often two or three each day. So over to the the king himself. Drumroll please. Start up the fanfare! The Knights of Tonbridge Castle. The hill that William fought up in 1066.

http://jedispace.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Adventures into the unknown. Sunday, March 13, 2011. Jedi Liam is a bit like Annekin as a boy. We recently got Star Wars No 1, The Phantom Menace for the boys which shows Annekin making a Pod racer from spare parts on his home planet Tatoine. They have only watched it 5 or 6 times so far! Liam is also great at making things. Today he has made a really cool ship with Lego for inter galactic battles and transport. Favourite things of the past month or so from Liam's perspective;. Skiing in Grand Bornand.

http://jedispace.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Adventures into the unknown. Saturday, November 6, 2010. Three seasons of fun. Liam has been on Planet France for 6 months now. He has seen three seasons in this time and has a few comments to share about his favourite things from each as a 4 year old Jedi. We arrived in Spring. It was really wet and cold for the first month. I got a bit sick with a cough that wouldn't go away for ages. Dragons in Grand Bornand! Taking a break while walking in the mountians. 1,2,3 go! Back at home we often had picnics at...

Adventures into the unknown. Saturday, September 4, 2010. The Padawans a l'ecole St Jean de Sixt. This week the two Jedi Padawan's Liam and Jackson went back to school to continue their apprenticeship. It was a bit scary as they were both in new classes with new Jedi Masters to learn from. Liam and Jackson's favourite things about returning to school in France. Hot lunches at school complete with desserts. Jackson's favourite is lasagne (just like Garfield) and icecream for dessert. Jedi Space: Our first winter in the Alps

http://jedispace.blogspot.com/2011/04/our-first-winter-in-alps.html

Adventures into the unknown. Monday, April 25, 2011. Our first winter in the Alps. Winter is over. The cows are coming back into the pastures that were the ski fields and the cols are now all open for Mum and Dad to enjoy cycling over. Luckily the main resorts 4k either side of our village with 130 lifts between them (going up to 2,600m alt.) still offered good or at least decent snow from late November until a few weeks ago. Skinny ski fun at Confins. Alpine skiing with Mum, Dad and Jackson at La Balme ...

The Crew Chef – culinary adventures of a chef onboard a private motor yacht

Culinary adventures of a chef onboard a private motor yacht. St Maarten, where you work haard but play haarder. January 3, 2017. Having had the bare minimum amount of days off since the crossing, a few of us decided to splash out and book a hotel for the weekend. We ‘Hotwired’ it, and found a cushy 4 star hotel for the night. What a treat it was, being away from the boat for an entire 24 hours! The cocktails were flowing, and at two for $8 who could blame us? Pan seared seabass with a Moroccan salsa.
