The Cultural Exchange DR. Language learning and life in the Dominican Republic. Newer posts →. The Immersion Chronicles: Introduction to Survival. August 31, 2011. A general consensus amongst many language enthusiast is that the best way to learn a language is through immersion. I am always intrigued whenever I hear stories from fellow language lovers who have traveled abroad, not knowing anything or very little, have lived. For anywhere from 6 months to a year, and managed to learn their target language!

The Cultural Exchange DR. Language learning and life in the Dominican Republic. Doing It….With No Partner. Recent Thoughts →. The Incredible Shrinking Man. October 11, 2011. This isn’t a health blog, but I just had to share with someone the phenomenon that happens to me every time I leave town for an extended period of time. I start shrinking! On an average day I would say I walk a minimum of 1-2 miles. On a busy day maybe 4 miles or so. Lots of calories burned. I Drink Massive Amounts of Water. HOT here...

The Cultural Exchange DR. Language learning and life in the Dominican Republic. The Incredible Shrinking Man. Dread Head →. October 28, 2011. Back once again with a new short post after a few days of not writing anything. However, to be honest nothing really significant has been going on. December is getting closer and my time is getting shorter. Do I feel like I will reach fluency at this point? Not a chance. Do I feel like my language skills have grown? Next on my list of goals? 8211; Memphis Mike.

Culture and entrepreneurship
Academic insights into the revolutionary role of entrepreneurship for cultural change. Entrepreneurs market ‘bloody brands’. Recently I ran across this fascinating article published in the Economist –. Http:/ www.economist.com/blogs/schumpeter/2013/08/bloody-brands? Fsrc=scn/tw ec/dictating the market. Whatever the reasons, it will be interesting to see if “bloody offensive” brands continue to gain a market footing, or whether this is part of long list of temporary fashions. 3 Keep a daily journal:.

Monday, October 03, 2005. 1 There are at least two people in this world that you would die for. 2 At least 15 people in this world love you in some way. 3 The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you. 4 A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you. 5 Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep. 6 You mean the world to someone. Made me wonder how people would view me here with this style. October 28, 2011. Doing task li...

The Cultural Exchequer | ransacking the treasury
Location: Karaoke Epoc at Adanami Shobo. March 8, 2010. Karaoke is a marmite. But for that real Japanese experience look no further than Karaoke Epoc. Karaoke Epoc is housed within Adanami Shobo. The prices above are per hour for the times specified, which are reasonable as far as Soho goes. This is probably due to the sheer age of the genuine (and slightly creaking) Japanese karaoke machines and the fact that the booths are made from some form of painted particle board, but this. These women need our help. The Zulu Education and Empowerment Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. EIN: 90-0904705. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Zulu women and girls have largely been forgotten, first by the Apartheid government, when black Africans were forced to live 'apart' from the white population, and now by the current government which appears to lack the resources or will to help and protect them.
