Robot Invasion! | dailydueck

https://thedailydueck.wordpress.com/2011/11/25/robot-invasion

Just another WordPress.com site. Writing for the Media. South Korea has announced that it will be adding two robotic prison wardens to help patrol its prisons. This is a move by the South Korean government to establish their country as a world leader in the field of robotics. It all sounds fine and dandy. Robots will take care of our prisoners, society’s anarchists and outcasts. We don’t need to people to take care of them anymore, because we can make machines do it. Progress! It is a perfect world.

https://thedailydueck.wordpress.com/2011/11/22/leading-and-following

Just another WordPress.com site. Writing for the Media. As US debt surmounts the 15 trillion mark, Congress is engaging the President in a violent struggle. The Republican party wants stuff to help their base, and the Democratic party the same. Unfortunately, in the middle of all the politics, the USA is facing one of the greatest challenges that it has ever faced. Incredibly high levels of debt, incredibly high levels of unemployment and incredibly ignorant politicians. The government exists to lead the...

NBA lockout to Congress lockout??? | dailydueck

https://thedailydueck.wordpress.com/2011/11/23/nba-lockout-to-congress-lockout

Just another WordPress.com site. Writing for the Media. NBA lockout to Congress lockout? Undoubtedly, things are stressful down south. The USA is not impressed with their leaders. Inefficiency, political games, and seeming obliviousness to the oblivion that is hanging over their country has changed the normally optimistic American electorate into a jaded and slightly irreverent bunch. Of course, that message is embraced by the different factions in Congress in the form of pointing to the other guy. Comme...

Just another WordPress.com site. Writing for the Media. Greece. The cradle of Western civilization. The birthplace of democracy. The land of the crystal clear Aegean Sea, white beaches, and whole hogs roasted on spits in the front yard. ( ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’, anyone? Also, the land of financial ferment. This brings me to the question of ‘was it worth it? 8217; Is it worth the loss of independence, of your way of doing work and life, to have a strong currency? Writing for the Media. Our school (which is heavy in the Social Sciences department) does Soc Movie nights occassionally. Tonight's movie was called "For the Bible tells me so", a 2007-ish documentary on the Christian parents of gay or lesbian chlidren. Right, we're all friends here? Excellent. Moving on. The infrequently-updated life and times coming from a geek-paraphernalia-filled lair in the Ottawa region. Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Can we say "Busted"? Those of us who watch Discovery Channel on a semi-regular basis are probably quite familiar with the popular show "Mythbusters", in which a team of scientists take on some of the most well-known myths around (anything from Hollywood movie magic to ancient legends to old wives' sayings) to prove their validity. In a word: Ooops. The Council of Elrond.

The infrequently-updated life and times coming from a geek-paraphernalia-filled lair in the Ottawa region. Monday, October 7, 2013. Everything I Know Is A Lie. If there is one thing that Sociology has taught me, it's that I legitimately live in the Matrix. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that this new found knowledge will enable me to dodge bullets or fly.
