The Daily Growl: The evil empire strikes again

http://thedailygrowl.blogspot.com/2008/11/evil-empire-strikes-again.html

Tuesday, November 11, 2008. The evil empire strikes again. I'm getting fed up of this, and before any posts that I really value get deleted, I'm going to suspend activity here until I work out how to migrate The Daily Growl to a self-hosted blog, which should give me some breathing space. I'm no technical whizz, but I've got to learn. So bear with me. Normal service should hopefully be restored before too long. Sorry to hear, especially when it's so idiotic. waiting for the next version of the site.

http://thedailygrowl.blogspot.com/2008/11/lambchop-union-chapel-3-november-2008.html

Monday, November 10, 2008. Lambchop @ The Union Chapel, 3 November 2008. I was having a chat with a friend recently about the value of consistency in music. Is consistency a good thing and when does it just get boring? How much are we comforted by a familiar sound and how much do we want our favourite artists to try something new? Answers in the comments if you may, but the aforementioned conversation was prompted by the new Lambchop. Too sprawling to engage properly and Damaged. Lambchop – Slipped...

Friday, August 29, 2008. Legendary record label Too Pure. May be no more, subsumed into the growing 4AD empire, but it still lives on for the time being in the form of the Too Pure Singles Club. They've been putting out limited edition 7 inches since last November, and the latest installment in the series is by Paperplain. Paperplain - Spin Wheel. Is released on 8 September. Buy it (and other sevens) from Too Pure. Recently signed to Big Dada. Xrabit and DMG$ - Killin' 'Em (Xrabit remix). These days, jus...

The Daily Growl: Bugged Out

http://thedailygrowl.blogspot.com/2008/11/bugged-out.html

Tuesday, November 04, 2008. The Daily Growl has love for The Shortwave Set. Particularly their ace debut album The Debt Collection. The love was a bit more muted for their second long-player Replica Sun Machine. However, the love remains strong for Glitches 'n' Bugs. One of the best tracks on the latest record. Here, some dodgy-sounding character called Marshmellow Mike adds woozy psychedelia, funky drumming, wobbly bass and barrelling rock 'n' roll piano to take the song to new foot-stomping heights.

http://iammachin.blogspot.com/2009/03/fourty-nine.html

Music for human beans/ words for human beans/ pictures for human beans. Tuesday, 10 March 2009. Hello, time for my month's obsessions.so far. Once again Laura Groves makes a big impression, even with some demos. I received a 5 track promo type thingymajig, which includes previous "I am Machin" infatuations "Doubtful Comforts" and "Does Anyone.", two spruced up tracks from the Laura Groves days, "I Am Leaving" and "I Wish I." and a newbie, "Rebecca". Listen to "I Wish I." here. John Sterry for example, ha...

Music for human beans/ words for human beans/ pictures for human beans. Wednesday, 17 December 2008. Fourty two: Charlene Soraia. Has a simply heavenly voice. Having wanted to seriously pursue music since getting a guitar at 7, she has honed her skills at Brit School, home to commercial greats such as Adele. Another shining example of Charlene's talent is Daffodils. Which reportedly reached no. 5 in the US Folk charts on iTunes. Nice! Fourty one: Alan Pownall. There's no denying that Alan Pownall. Music for human beans/ words for human beans/ pictures for human beans. Monday, 20 April 2009. On a reccomendation from Fucking Dance. S Jamila, I listened to Tinashé. Last night as I was preparing for bed. Spreading over a variety of genres, Tinashé (remember that accent! Isn't ashamed to admit he loves pop music. This becomes apparent in his songs that instantly burst with versatilty and will put a smile on anyone's face. The slightly more melancholy. Brap did you rip that mp3? 22 April 2009 at 15:21.

http://silverese.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, 4 February 2007. A rather belated and underwhelming explanation of why this blog is called what it is called. OK so no posts for like two weeks, but fear not, I have not given up this lark, I am officially back, probably not "back with a vengeance" or anything like that (not, say, "Silverese 2: Silver-easier", to extend the Die Hard metaphor.), but still. Sooooo - I mean no one seems to have actually visited this site yet, so it's not like there was anyone eagerly awaiting an update, but. Superhe...

Wednesday, 18 February 2009. This time, the house isn't yellow, in fact the wood isn't painted. Early in the morning, very little light penetrates the branches, throwing soft shapes on the floor. No matter how convincing and comforting you may sound, Ed, the truth is there in the title: Two Weeks. And that's all we have. Until next year. Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks. The Daily Ground Hog. Fighting the good fight and holding on to the Faith and a good conscience. Thursday, August 13, 2015. And Now A Story. An elderly Florida lady did her shopping and, upon returning to her car, found four males in the act of leaving with her vehicle. She dropped her shopping bags and drew her handgun, proceeding to scream at the top of her lungs, I have a gun, and I know how to use it! Get out of the car! The four men didn't wait for a second threat. They got out and ran like mad.

Mumblings, mussings and photoshots . . . Kim Kardasian, porn and her fame. I can’t for the foggiest understand why Kim K.’s so well-publicized. I mean, she’s got a porn tape out there which she filmed with her ex-bf, which got leaked and eventually was commercialised with her consent (ya, she got money out of it too).
