The Daily Ruggles

Wednesday, June 20, 2012. After church on Sunday we snapped a few pictures of the temple so we could see the progress. If you look closely at the windows you can see the wheat motif. What a view from the Temple Grounds! Can you see the stone benches turned upside down by the orange tarp? What a cute picture! I didn't know there were going to be stairs like that! The landscaping is coming along. There are sidewalks poured and street lamps installed. Look at that sky! It was a beautiful Father's Day. Rache...

The Daily Ruggles: TRACK MEET

http://thedailyruggles.blogspot.com/2012/05/track-meet.html

Monday, May 7, 2012. Samuel decided to try out for the track team at school this year. And he made it. Today was the track meet. Jeff, Charlotte and I were able to go see him. Waiting. . . . to take ready position. Samuel did a great job! He was very focused. A little down time after the race. Samuel didn't really want us to come watch him, but we wanted to come and offer support. It was really fun to watch. We are so proud of him too. He set a goal and achieved it. He even said it was fun!

The train is winding its way through the tunnel. Marissa, Elise, Samuel, Charlotte. Biking in Stanley Park - Vancouver. Sunday, August 21, 2011.

Sunday, October 9, 2011. To get to conference Jeff and Samuel rode the train so they could avoid traffic before and after the session. As it turns out, several other deacons from our ward were also in attendance at conference with their fathers as well as our Bishop and Stake President. The Train ran from Sandy all the way to Temple Square. Marissa, Elise and Charlotte waiting to see Samuel and Dad off at the train station. View from our Seats. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Daily Ruggles: January 2011

http://thedailyruggles.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 30, 2011. Or should we say, Happy Birthweek? On Monday, the day before her birthday, she got to bring the treat for her preschool class. So she chose to include cookies! Then, she came home to see these beautiful flowers just for her. That night, we celebrated as a family. We started off with her dinner of choice. Angel Hair pasta with butter and parmasean cheese and Italian sausage, garlic-cheese toast and orange jello salad. Thank goodness Italian food is a favorite around here.). So wi...

The Saunders Chronicles: August 2011

Sunday, August 14, 2011. Poor Brady didn't even get a mention in the last post. He was a trooper and attended all of Audrey and Carter's events with me. June was his birthday so he finally had a day all about him. This year he seemed to enjoy the attention a little more. He was still a bit reserved and as you can tell from the pictures, very serious. But he had a good time and even opened a few gifts while others watched. On his actual birthday we opened a few gifts and had cake. Darth Vader his favorite.

You can see from the faces that it was a great reunion! Brothers Peter and Jacob get in on the action. Hiding in Pixie Hollow. Friday, March 19, 2010.

Sunday, July 18, 2010. In the Summer Time. We have been enjoying each day of the summer with all sorts of fun activities. Here are just a few. Eating lunch in "The Clubhouse" because. The table is too cluttered with crafts and other fun things! Spending time at the park. The Brown's were in town for the 4th of July so a group of us celebrated by watching the fireworks in our community. We were all so impressed with the show! Dave and Brady met baby Kailyn for the first time. This was the pretend bathroom...

Tuesday, December 21, 2010. A small holiday heartache. It took him a few days but the flu has finally passed. Unfortunately he is still a little heart broken about the concert. Carter's friends Wyatt and Drew brought him his balloon because they knew how disappointed he was about missing the Christmas celebrations. Monday, December 13, 2010. To find a Christmas tree. When Carter heard we were going to pick out our tree he went to find his work gloves so he could help Dave . I thought that was SO cute!

The Saunders Chronicles: School Days

http://thesaunderschronicles.blogspot.com/2011/08/school-days.html

Sunday, August 07, 2011. I know it's already mid-summer but I need to blog about all the fun end of the year activities we enjoyed. Audrey and Carter worked really hard this year in school. They were able to display their hard work in projects and performances. STUDENT OF THE MONTH - this is an award that is given to one student in each class each month for showing good citizenship. Carter received the honor in May. Grandma Heyman was in town and came to see the play. 4TH GRADE STREET HOCKEY TEAM - Audre...

Wednesday, March 16, 2011. A Week of Parties. Last week was filed with fun gatherings and celebrations! Next on the calendar was a going away party for one of my Beehives, Haylie Call. All the girls wanted to give her a fun send off so we played games, took pictures and ate chocolate chip cookie ice cream sundaes. It was great as I listed off how they needed a jacket, mittens, a hat, scarf and boots. Watching them figure it all out and race around was a hoot. They had a blast! We all know Audrey loves cr...

Saturday, January 02, 2010. Life was FINE in '09. We finished December off right. Every year Audrey and Carter love making Gingerbread houses. Dave assists with the frosting and the kids add (and eat, of course) the candy. These were the 2009 Candy Houses. It was so much fun to get to visit and spend a little time together during this time of year. The group at the tree in Fashion Island. Just two of the many amazing houses decorated on Balboa Island. Friday, October 22, 2010. Our front door with the Boo signs. We thought the Boo was so cleaver with each letter turned into a Halloween scene. The bottom sign was from the Ward. I've also come to the realization that I am slightly obsessed with pumpkins. Our Trader Joe's has the cutest Fall display - I can hardly stand it! I just love Fall colors and Trader Joe's. The tree with a few of the "blessing leaves" displayed. Friday, October 15, 2010. He had SWALLOWED his tooth! After that Carter swallowing his...

The Daily Ruby

Maybe not daily, but I'll try my best. Monday, May 20, 2013. I can't believe I haven't blogged since July 2011! Every time I think about picking up where I left off, I wonder how I'm going to pre-blog or pre-date or pre-post all the things that have happened since July 2011. I'm just going to start updating here in no particular order:. 1 October 20012- I had a son, Atticus. He's awesome. I'll dedicate a couple of introductory posts on him. Did I mention he's awesome? 4 August 2011 - We moved! This was t...

The Rumbles (Or Les Adventures Francais). Check out www.babyrumble.blogspot.com for family updates, this one is all about our make-believe pro-cycling career! Friday, May 15, 2015. For me, I was so out of shape that a little mercy came right at the start of the long descent from a broken wheel. At the time I wasn't too pleased about it, but my legs were just about done anyway. The Daily Rumi

The Mathnawi, Jalalu'ddin Rumi's master work, is a 1200 page poem. Having studied it in an intensive tutorial with a Persian scholar, Dev Prakash in 1979, I am now rereading it 30 years later, using the Reynold Nicholson translation. My hope is that you will find these short selections speaking to your soul, as they do to mine. Monday, June 14, 2010. The vulgar do not see God working, and therefore never rest from toil.
