I currently use 3 Android devices on a regular basis including a 3.7″ phone, a 5.2″ phablet, and a 10″ full size tablet, and if it weren’t so ridiculous to have more, I’d probably add a Nexus7 to the family. “Why use them all? The smaller ones are less easy to use but leave a free hand for face-palms. For devices on ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’: Nova Launcher. For anything on an earlier version: Holo Launcher (ICS).
