Color, Creating and Quilting!: January 2017
https://colorcreatingandquilting.blogspot.com/2017_01_01_archive.html
Shadow Block Mini Gallery. Sunday, January 29, 2017. My daughter asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I told her a pretty sign for my sewing room. So she made me this! Thank you, Ashley! She has to have her cat in all her pictures whenever possible, apparently. And I was very surprised she let me post a picture of her with her hair in disarray. Keepin' it real! If you are disappointed at not seeing any quilts, you can read about my first 2017 finish, my first BIG finish, and my 6th finish ever!

Shadow Block Mini Gallery. Sunday, January 8, 2017. What I Learned About Paper Piecing! In one of the Stash Bee's I belong to, the Queen Bee this month requested tree blocks! She even gave us links to a variety of different tutorials we could use some of which were very simple and easy to do. What did I do? Chose a complicated paper pieced block above my abilities. Should have known better. Here is the pattern I chose to make:. Why did I choose this pattern? Well, I love it! Here is the final result:.

A group of new friends, scattered across several continents, connected by a common hobby. February 18, 2017. A Blue Block for Sue. I had a good time pulling fabrics for this block. Perhaps I took the monochromatic direction a bit too literally, but I really liked the example blocks that Sue provided, and they led me to this blue:. I think this is a really cool block – very colorful and clean. Thanks for the inspiration Sue! I think these guys are appropriate for our group:. Our state question is ‘r...

A group of new friends, scattered across several continents, connected by a common hobby. December 23, 2016. Just when I think I have narrowed down a block…I see something else! But I promise that I will have a post with the block and desired colors right after Christmas! Right now, I am furiously trying to finish quilting a Pokemon quilt for my 8 year old grandson. And the end is in sight! Binding is next…I like that, I can relax in front of the television and watch a movie! But it has been lots of fun!

A group of new friends, scattered across several continents, connected by a common hobby. March 8, 2017. In February, Sue had asked that we write a bit about where we live and I just did not get around to it while in Texas. So here I am back in Missouri and I am glad to be home. Don’t get me wrong, being a Winter Texan is great! Sue’s block was a joy to make, and I think I may have to use that in the next bee I am in. This could get addictive! As you can tell, Bella loved the block too! I am most fortuna...

June 3, 2016. June 30, 2016. Now I can make that outrageous comment because I didn’t make this quilt other than the final assembly. Virtually all of the blocks come from my wonderful bee mates of the Siblings Together Bee 2. Some of it even came in useful! It has all these elements and more. Heaven knows why it is called Field Crossing but it is a beautiful design. So we now have a finished quilt and isn’t she a stunner. I think it may be my favourite quilt to date. The assembly was a doddle and an inter...
