No More Tomfoolery | Express to Flushing

The year-round frustrations of a New York Mets fan. Possible ‘Pen Solution: Calero? March 18, 2010. The Mets have an evening Spring Training game tonight, which I hope to catch some of later on. Most of the games, I think, have been in the daytime so far, so I haven’t gotten to catch any on the weekdays. We’ve got Ollie going tonight, which, if yesterday’s post. Is correct, should get shelled. We’ll see. This post’s title is a very oblique reference to a video. I came across on Twitter. 1,2…1,2. Reason n...

The year-round frustrations of a New York Mets fan. Possible ‘Pen Solution: Calero? March 16, 2010. I once again ran into my one Mets friend from work by the elevators today. I love how we can cover another month’s worth of frustration in abut 45 seconds. We covered the loss of Reyes (both of us expressing the fear, dread, and also belief that he would be out for the full 8 weeks), and how that kind of. Responses to “Hey Buddy”. Feed for this Entry. The Bad Ollie | Express to Flushing

The year-round frustrations of a New York Mets fan. March 19, 2010. Speaking of ballpark food, time for a little Friday poll: what’s your favorite? Those Shake Shack burgers are pretty damn good (worth missing three innings or so? Depends on the game, I think), and they have some mean nachos at Citi, but I personally like to stick with the old standby that I mentioned before. Responses to “The Bad Ollie”. Feed for this Entry. The year-round frustrations of a New York Mets fan. March 14, 2010. Another great Mets blog to check out is Amazin’ Avenue. Which is like a media guide on steroids (still kind of hesitant to use that term with regards to baseball) – most definitely worth a download and read. Check it out. March 13, 2010. Don’t want to speak too soon, and can’t underestimate Ilya Kovalchuk, but it’s looking pretty good for the Islanders at this point. That’s good. Also looking like this rai...March 12, 2010. The Experiment | Express to Flushing

The year-round frustrations of a New York Mets fan. March 15, 2010. The Ruben Tejada Experiment, that is, which, for today at least. Showed some potential for success. Sort of. Tejada. Completely unrelated, the internet was down at work this morning (always seems to happen when we have “major network upgrades” over the weekend; the IT department here has about as much accountability as Omar Minaya) so luckily I had already downloaded that Amazin’ Avenue Annual. That I mentioned yesterday. 1,2…1,2. Reason...

College | Express to Flushing

The year-round frustrations of a New York Mets fan. March 21, 2010. Some rain today on a split-squad day for the Mets, but they did defeat (luckily) the University of Michigan, 8-1. It’s got to be pretty amazing to play against big-leaguers as an NCAA-er – even if some of these guys were probably approached by major league scouts, or possibly even drafted, when they were 17 or 18. Definitely think it’s pretty cool that a lot of clubs do this. Responses to “College”. Feed for this Entry. 1,2…1,2.

The year-round frustrations of a New York Mets fan. March 30, 2010. Man, I know Daryl Strawberry had the potential to be one of the best ever, and certainly blew it, but to see his name just in the middle of a list of busted, wasted #1 draft picks. But not helping the case, it appears that he really wimped out on Trump’s. Response to “Like A Knife”. Feed for this Entry. John C. Mooney. April 1, 2010 at 7:41 am. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
