The Dean Nest

Wednesday, November 19, 2014. I realized that we are 2 months away from the due date, so here's a little update! Apparently Pinecone is the size of a coconut. But I'm pretty sure I'm carrying a spider monkey. Sleeping is getting more and more difficult due to her extreme need to flip and flop all through the night. And the Braxton Hicks have begun! Harrison, Baby Lily (or Wilwy as he says) and the bump. We've been surprised at how much more our picky little toddler will eat (MAC N CHEESE! And how fast hi...

The Dean Nest: Round #2

http://www.thedeannest.blogspot.com/2014/08/round-2.html

Saturday, August 16, 2014. Just a quick update for inquiring minds. I am close to the halfway mark with Baby D #2 and finding myself more busy/tired/excited than ever. Harrison had his 1st stomach bug recently. Still smiling through the vom. His school meets 2 mornings a week starting in September at the Presbyterian church downtown. Mornings are filled with story times, play grounds and crafts. And socializing! As far as pregnancy goes, this one has been an entirely different experience from day 1.

The Dean Nest: September 2014

http://www.thedeannest.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Cooking with the Toddler. Yesterday I found a great recipe for Cajun Chicken with Fettucini Alfredo. Sounded awesome. Sounded easy. 30 minutes or less and I would whip up a (different) dinner for the 3 of us. Perfect. Is the worst thing ever. I did not drink an entire bottle of wine, cry or scream "SHUTTTTT UPPPPPP! Like I wanted to. In the end, here's how dinner worked out-. Eric plated the pasta, I coddled Harrison and the tears subsided. As we sat down at the table, all ...

The Dean Nest: December 2013

http://www.thedeannest.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, December 5, 2013. I have a few thoughts that are entirely too long for a facebook status update, so you get a blog post. Lucky you. I'll try to keep it short and to the point because the long ranting version in my head keeps getting me off track and that's just not good for anyone. And so, since we are already supposed to be sensitive this time of year, I am realizing that my brother's birthday plopped right in the thick of it, is helping me be a kinder person. If not for Christmas, then for him.

The Dean Nest: Changes in the air...

http://www.thedeannest.blogspot.com/2014/09/changes-in-air.html

Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Changes in the air. It's Tuesday morning at 9:41am. I am sipping a cup of coffee, reading through a few blogs and listening to my clothes spin in the washing machine. This may sound boring, or a million miles away from whatever you are doing this morning, but this is seriously music to my ears. Harrison has started preschool. His second week began this morning at 9am. This week, I figured I could handle it. I am proud to say, that I can. Mostly. And in more sentences (Mama!

andrew, emily & tess!: September 2011

http://andrewemilyblog.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Andrew, emily and tess! Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Good advice from my boss. Be the kind of mom you want tess to be. Take care of yourself. Exercise a little bit every day to get the oxygen and endorphins to the brain. Drink plenty of water. Be sure to pamper yourself without feeling guilty. You're better when you feel better. So what did i do? Work my tail off at work, go to the grocery store, make dinner for the fam, watch tv and stay up too late! Ugh i need to be better to myself. What do you think?

Andrew, emily and tess! Monday, March 12, 2012. Things i'd really like to do this year. 1 lose 22 lbs (yes, 22. not 20 or 25. although once i lose 22, i'll probably want to lose 20 more, cause then i'd be at my college/wedding weight - sigh, that brings to light the 42 lbs OVER college weight i am. ON TO THE NEXT TOPIC! 2 get the house to a clean state and keep it there on a regular basis. 3 begin working on the outside of the house so that we don't look like we're out of deliverance. Hyperbole and a Half.

andrew, emily & tess!: January 2012

http://andrewemilyblog.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Andrew, emily and tess! Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Well, i dropped the ball on this blog bigtime, but i've been SO busy! Since tess and i are both home sick, i thought i'd give you a quick update (quick though, because apparently sick tess = no sleep tess), and the steroids make her crazy! Don't get me wrong, but it's nice to be married and not have to care for your child every once in awhile too! I actually took the week between christmas and new years as vacation, so although i worked christmas eve a...

http://andrewemilyblog.blogspot.com/2012/08/filling-void-with-waffles-and-pandora.html

Andrew, emily and tess! Friday, August 17, 2012. Filling the void with waffles. Wow, it's been a long time since i've blogged - so long in fact, that i don't even recognize this blogger post-constructing template! But anyway. let's move on to the reason of the post. I feel yucky inside. I'm not sure if i can put my finger on it, but i just feel. distant? Heart, not theirs. i think. And i don't even know where or how to start talking about it. I don't like my job. But enough about that. I feel like i inve...

http://andrewemilyblog.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Andrew, emily and tess! Friday, August 12, 2011. Livin' in the country. Today was pretty cool. tess and i went on an adventure around our little town to find fresh food! We went to the local produce stand (L&G farms) as the first stop to get some fresh fruits (a carton of 6 peaches for $2.50! Veggis, and eggs! But they didn't, and they didn't have figs either, but (and this is how you know i live in the country) the 92 year old lady they sometimes buy figs from lived right down the road! I was hoping for...

andrew, emily & tess!: April 2011

http://andrewemilyblog.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Andrew, emily and tess! Sunday, April 3, 2011. 8 weeks of puppies: week 1. As many of you know, we have taken on the responsibility of fostering ELEVEN dogs! Originally, i thought it'd be 9, but what's two more? So the story is that we have a local woman who owns a store in cameron village called cat banjo. And she runs a dog rescue out of the store - how cool? Well, she always brings her dogs in to work, and we've gotten to see these poor creatures come back from literally. 8 or 9 volunteers and i stood...

andrew, emily & tess!: update

http://andrewemilyblog.blogspot.com/2012/04/update.html

Andrew, emily and tess! Thursday, April 5, 2012. I thought I'd update you on how my progress is going. I'm writing from my cell phone, so I have to be brief because this is too difficult for me! But I am making some progress on my goals:. I have lost 6lbs, which is a big deal for me :-). We have started attending a church regularly, and Andrew and I are even going to a Bible study as of last week, so that's good. The house is still a mess, but we're hoping to work on the outside this weekend.
