Offerings to relationships of all kinds. Was born during the sultry southern summer of 2000 as a home for my artwork, writing and other creative endeavors. Presently I'm working on creating a website and digitizing my portfolio, and I thought it might be fun to add a wee glimpse into that gallery here. Please note that all writing and artworks (photographs too! Both in the gallery and anywhere else on this blog. Jack and the Beanstalk , watercolor on paper. Taos Dogs, oil on canvas. A Sacred Friendship: July 2011

http://thedeerscry.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Offerings to relationships of all kinds. Monday, July 18, 2011. It's my favorite part of the summer season, as mounds of hydrangea blooms soften searing sun with their cool periwinkle frost of color, and their puffball sense of humor. These little clusters of joy are abundant through our neighborhood now, punctuating the more rigid corners and claustrophobic lines of our Victorian-era brickmakers' ward with a welcome reminiscent of ice cream and sprinklers. And a bit of a slap in the face for an herbal f...

So-long-waiting that suddenly i have decided, i am resting in the wait,. Which sort of rather makes me wait-less. And waitless as i am, i rest, knowing not a thing. Not quite lupus, but very lupus-y, and wondering why we don't just call. It that, why don't we). Creating a wee gallery, the. Waiting. waiting. for what? I've l...

A Sacred Friendship: Tender Shoots

http://thedeerscry.blogspot.com/2012/03/tender-shoots.html

Offerings to relationships of all kinds. Saturday, March 24, 2012. Went quickly, didn't it? I have a new friend,. To compliment my new view;. And while these please me to no end, I am ever-clearly realizing that I must admit,. I am not at all well. However, there's a silver lining in that my new doctor (whom I think I love nearly as much as my new friend and my new view) has given me a reassuring diagnosis that no, the severe symptoms are not all in my head thankyouverymuch. To compliment my Fibromyalgia.

The Whirling Dervish: March 2015

http://cinnyn.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 30, 2015. I've been in Boston, MA for 3 weeks now but the weather has been crappy on the weekends. Yesterday was the first sunny day that I was off. Yeah me! I finally got to be a bit of a tourist. Took the Red Line down to Park to start at the Boston Commons. From there I started my own walk of the Freedom Trail (thefreedomtrail.org) which comprises 16-18 historic places on a 2 mile walk. All are significant to the beginnings of our country. And green. Old army green at that.

http://cinnyn.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 9, 2013. I was in the mood for a black and white photo. This is one of the front doors at the National Cathedral in Georgetown, VA. Links to this post. Labels: Black and white. Monday, October 7, 2013. Friday I drove to the next town up the road to go to Walmart. Now usually I hate shopping at Walmart but I needed groceries, a roasting pan, and my oil changed. The drive home was interesting as storms were rolling in. Made for an interesting picture! Links to this post.

The Whirling Dervish: Home

http://cinnyn.blogspot.com/2015/02/home.html

Thursday, February 26, 2015. I came home for a week and a half between travel assignments. While I've been here my mom and I have taught my nieces how to cross stitch. They are doing pretty well with practice just doing the x's and locking down their thread in the back. Shockingly the 8 year old is having an easier time than the 12 year old. Chapter 1 is all about the Howl. In fact, Clarissa Estes names the chapter ‘The Howl: Resurrection of the Wild Woman.’. 8220;There is an old woman who lives in a hidden place that everyone knows in their souls but few have ever seen.”. Young People’s Dharma? | No Zen in the West

https://nozeninthewest.wordpress.com/forum-young-people-in-dharma

No Zen in the West. A blog and Dharma forum from Jiryu Mark and Hondo Dave Rutschman-Byler. Is There Zen in the West? Two Shores… the Book. Young People’s Dharma? Young People’s Dharma? Below is an older No Zen post about young people in the Dharma, and the dozens of first responses to it. It clearly struck a nerve, and I hope this can be a place for an ongoing discussion about it. Please read or skim around and offer your thoughts! Perhaps all of this talk can even come to something. March 8, 2010.

The Whirling Dervish: Skeletons

http://cinnyn.blogspot.com/2015/04/skeletons.html

Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Apparently early Bostonians thought putting skeletons on their tombstone was a sign they had beaten death and gone to heaven. I just think the stone masons wanted a laugh. Clearly this skeleton is enjoying its life. #boston #historygeek. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. Beyond the fields we know. Cheryl Day's 365 Photo Project. The Whirling Dervish: November 2013

http://cinnyn.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 25, 2013. I've been missing the ocean this weekend. Since I'm finishing up my assignment in Iowa, I'm a bit far from a walk on the beach. I'm making due with this beautiful stained glass window at the National Catherdral is Georgetown, VA. You will only see this window, that is in an office on the behinds the scenes tour they offer. The office space had several small windows like this and they all have a sea theme. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Beyond the fields we know.
