Recipe : Thai beef noodle salad. 100g bean thread noodles. 2 tsp red curry paste. 1/2 cucumber, chopped into thin slivers. 10 cherry tomatoes, halved. 1 red bell pepper, sliced thinly. 1/2 red onion or 4 shallots, thinly sliced. 2 large handfuls beansprouts. 1 small handful each of basil, mint and cilantro. 2 tsp sesame oil.

You can see what I mean when you compare the photo above to the one below. All the right conditions provided us with 3 months worth of continuing sprouts, (all grown from seed). Whereas a tiny, shaded balcony produced a plant that bore 6 shoots of the purple stuff. Lessons learnt and bitter disappointment felt. 1 zucchini, grated and squeezed dry. 2 shallots, finely sliced.
