http://tightywritie.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
The transformation of thoughts into words. Friday, September 23, 2011. The power of words. Excuse me.*clears throat*. moves soapbox into position. Words have amazing power. They have the power to lift us up or shoot us down. They bring warmth or freezing cold based on how they are spoken. Words can teach and words can exasperate. Words matter. When my 8 year old came home with a math worksheet we reviewed it like all parents do. Here is one of the math problems:. Explain how you know. Monday, September 1...

http://tightywritie.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
The transformation of thoughts into words. Monday, April 23, 2012. The Lie That Tells a Truth part 2. Sorry for the delay in the second part of my book review of The Lie That Tells a Truth by John Dufresne. We left off with understanding the purpose of a first draft. It's to not be perfect. It's to get the words out there and see where the story takes you. Now we're on to the Revision stage. The author states that "All writing is rewriting." He also gives two pieces of advice:. 1 Finish the story. Charac...

Tighty Writie: February 2012
http://tightywritie.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
The transformation of thoughts into words. Monday, February 13, 2012. Hi ho hi ho, it's off to edit I go. I thought writing my story was hard. Fun, but hard. Now it's time to edit. This is hard and I'm not sure it's fun. I haven't decided yet. It's a little masochistic because you take what you love, what poured out from you and then you look at it and call your own baby ugly. Do you ever have these concerns? What is your process for editing your stories? Thursday, February 2, 2012. Follow me on Twitter!

Tighty Writie: March 2012
http://tightywritie.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
The transformation of thoughts into words. Monday, March 26, 2012. I read the book. Over the weekend. It was published in 2004 and is written by Daniel Alarcon. It's a guide for the novelist, a handbook. It was written in an interesting way because it was actually just verbatims from different authors, like Steven King, answering questions about their writing styles and techniques. The quotes are taken from when they were on different author panels. These comments from respected authors were really helpf...

The transformation of thoughts into words. Sunday, October 9, 2011. A silly poem and a picture! You know those people that "have to write"? The ones that write all day and night? The ones that write until their fingers are sore? Writers with ideas coming out every pore? The picture below shows one such as these. She chooses not to write on her knees. The writing is from deep in her bones. She types and types there on her throne. Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Who are you as a writer? That's the beauty of diff...

Tighty Writie: November 2011
http://tightywritie.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
The transformation of thoughts into words. Sunday, November 13, 2011. During the month of October I wrote just two blogs and none for November until now. There are two excuses for this and I will share them with you. So, I'm getting over it. I think I just need to realize that I'm getting older and can't eat all the crap that I used to. That sucks. 2 The second reason for not being very blog prolific is that I don't know what to write about. I'm no expert at writing but I started a blog about writing.

Tighty Writie: December 2011
http://tightywritie.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
The transformation of thoughts into words. Friday, December 30, 2011. Some time ago I received a critique of the story that I've been working on this year. My critique partner did a fantastic job of showing me where the story wasn't working and why. For the last several months I've been focusing on my day job and not thinking about the story. Letting it sit, you experienced writers might say. Fast forward several months. I don't know if it will be a better story, but I'm ready to work on it again. The Ot...
