Urban Patina: Rescued Relics + Upcycled Junk: August 2015

Saturday, August 29, 2015. Modern Rustic End Tables. Leather tops on tables. You know the ones.they only looked good until someone spilled a drink or burned a hole in the leather. Well my latest project was a textbook case of yucky leather tables in dire straits and in serious need of a makeover. I started by removing the four leather inserts on the end tables. What was I left with? A clean slate and lots of potential. I didn't throw in the towel, and man oh man am I glad I didn't! Once I had all of the ...

Sunday, May 24, 2015. Fresh Simple. Classic. Dresser. The official start of summer is upon us so it seemed it was perfect timing to break out the white, old white chalk paint that is! I've had some really great luck finding gorgeous dressers lately.making it relatively easy to transform a piece like this into a show stopper because it has so much class already. Here are some more pictures and closeups of the finished product. Thanks to all those who have served our beautiful country. Tuesday, May 12, 2015.

Urban Patina: Rescued Relics + Upcycled Junk: Reclaimed Grainery Bench
http://urbanpatina.blogspot.com/2015/08/reclaimed-grainery-bench.html
Friday, August 14, 2015. A small, modest, and weathered grainery in Savage, Minnesota. But not so fast, the wood that was reclaimed from the inside of this little building is jaw dropping. This grainery building was constructed by a friend's father many years ago. What is extra special here is that the wood used to build the structure was made from lumber that was reclaimed previously from a local homestead. Here is the industrial bench that we created from those boards. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Monday, September 29, 2014. Graphite Drexel Buffet UPdate. I painted this lovely Drexel buffet with Graphite {a favorite of mine these days}, distressed it a bit and topped it with a dark and clear wax blend. I thought the original hardware was dreadful when I started, but when I held it up against the dark graphite it was absolutely stunning. I love the contrast of the brass hardware now and the added detail of the brass feet. This buffet looks so modern and fresh. Here is the buffet mid-makeover. You s...

Urban Patina: Rescued Relics + Upcycled Junk: January 2015
http://urbanpatina.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 28, 2015. In the last month I've brought home no less then 15 tables: side tables, end tables and nightstands etc. It's like everywhere I look there is another darling table that needs a makeover.so I scoop them up and haul them home. Consequently, I have them stacked high in the barn and garage, just waiting their turn! Here are a cute pair of end tables finished in french linen. I left the drawers natural so you can see the pretty inlay. Here's the BEFORE AND AFTER. Based on the nice...
