A year in the life of an atypical army wife with a husband in Afghanistan. Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Deeper than the Mariana. Today is our anniversary. One year ago, we were just married. Beside ourselves with delight and passion, we enveloped eachother with a love so deep, so pure, that we'd never know anything less. From here, there is very little I could do for him today. The Deployment Pages: I'm not dead yet.

http://www.thedeploymentpages.blogspot.com/2010/08/im-not-dead-yet.html

A year in the life of an atypical army wife with a husband in Afghanistan. Wednesday, August 18, 2010. I'm not dead yet. Hmm My posts are starting to space out more than I intended. I've been busy lately, thus my lack of effort. Maintaining this blog is important to me though, so I'm determined to make time for it. An update on me:. An update on Sean:. But each day is a day. And I'm getting through them. Labels: i should probably write more often. Learning how to cope. August 18, 2010 at 6:52 PM. Haha, A...

A year in the life of an atypical army wife with a husband in Afghanistan. Friday, July 30, 2010. If only every day would pass as quickly. Yesterday was a great day. I suppose I'd rank most of this past week as average, maybe slightly above or below. so I'm always surprised by a particularly good time, and I welcome it with open arms. The evening rolled around, and it was time to see Iron and Wine. My good friend, Pat, picked me up and we met up with my dearest friend Eden and her boyfriend. Dinn...I hav...

The Deployment Pages: One down, eleven to go.

http://www.thedeploymentpages.blogspot.com/2010/08/one-down-eleven-to-go.html

A year in the life of an atypical army wife with a husband in Afghanistan. Thursday, August 5, 2010. One down, eleven to go. Well, there it is! One billing cycle down. Needless to say, I've been waiting for this. I know it's only the first of twelve, but Sean was right when he brought this up. It's a glass-half-full kind of perspective. To add even more to my already-half-full glass, I only have three more cycles until he's back for R&R! Labels: a glass half-full. August 5, 2010 at 8:42 PM. I should prob...

The Deployment Pages: Song sung softly.

http://www.thedeploymentpages.blogspot.com/2010/09/song-sung-softly.html

A year in the life of an atypical army wife with a husband in Afghanistan. Sunday, September 19, 2010. So much has happened, yet I'm found now in the same position I was in two months ago. In a nutshell:. Sean reminded me that yes, this is Texas, and I am not run-of-the-mill. I should have expected it. I've been unemployed for just over a week now, and finding something new has not been easy. I suppose those are the major bullet points of my life right now. Things move so quickly, and suddenly come t...

Sensibly Saenz: August 2010

http://candiceandmikesaenz.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 31, 2010. The baby moves around a lot an loves to kick me in my ribs and hips. I swear I am growing a future US gold medal gymnast. The baby flips and turns all day everyday, which a truly a great thing, but annoying when I want to sleep. The baby has been growing like crazy and is now the size of a squash! Here is some fun information about our little "sesame.". Baby’s energy is surging, thanks to the formation of white fat deposits beneath the skin. (Have those. Sleep and waking cycles.

Sensibly Saenz: September 2010

http://candiceandmikesaenz.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, September 30, 2010. That Time of Year. What can I make with these ingredients? Considering I love pumpkin and I know how Mike adores pumpkin chocolate chip cookies I decided to switch it up a bit. I grabbed my mixer, bowls, measuring cups and spoons and worked my magic. I came up with whole wheat pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. Oh but wait there is more. You know I couldn't stop at just one batch on goodness. I grabbed my tools and worked more magic. Sensibly Saenz: October 2010

http://candiceandmikesaenz.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 26, 2010. On October 19th Mike and I woke up just like any other day. But this was no ordinary day, no this was the day that he and I were going to become parents. Or at least begin the process of becoming parents. No, I was actually fine with this because in my mind I would much rather go in at night and labor through the night in peace. Are you kidding me? Where am I suppose to find a security escort? Because of my violent trembling I told Mike I was afraid I wouldn't be able to hold s...

Saturday, December 3, 2011. Lets Play Catch Up. Confession: I am hanging my head in shame as I type this next sentence. It has been nearly 6 months since I last blogged and I am sorry I have been such a bad blog friend to you all. But alas lets try to let bygones be bygones and I will happily catch you all up on a few things. First BIG and I mean BIG event, Mike came home from Afghanistan! http://candiceandmikesaenz.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 12, 2011. I am sitting on the back porch listening to the London Metropolitan Orchestra. It is nice to be alone with my thoughts and fabulous music. Adia is growing up so fast it is incredible. She isn't crawling yet but getting very close. She has no teeth yet but those puppies are working on popping through. I think she has inherited her daddy's teeth. Which means essentially this girl is going to be best friends with a dentist her whole life if she grows teeth the way her daddy can. With ...

Sunday, January 30, 2011. Little miss Adia is growing up so fast. I have a love hate relationship with her growing up. I love it because she becomes more and more fun. I hate it because she will never be so tiny again and I hate that Mike is missing stuff. Here is a picture of her on Jan. 20th the day she turned 3 months. I Just love how she is holding her hands. A few things about Adia that I think you should know:. She loves to stand up and is very good at it. She loves to blow spit bubbles. Recently A...

Friday, May 6, 2011. While I was in Utah I had the opprotunity to visit my great grandpa. We call him Honkey, he is a sweet old man and still has a sense of humor. He is 100 years old and he told my dad that he wants to make it to 101 but that is it. Silly Honkey, doesn't he know I think he will make it to 105? We were able to get a few picture with him and Adia after all how many kids get an opprounity to meet their Great Great Grandfather? Adia with her Great Great Grandpa Honkey. Thursday, May 5, 2011.

Sensibly Saenz: November 2010

http://candiceandmikesaenz.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Michael left to Afghanistan on Monday for yet again another tour. Every deployment is tough whether it be domestic or abroad, but this deployment has been extremely painful. He has only been gone a few days but I miss so much about him. I miss. Hearing him sing to Adia. Hearing him sing in the shower. Feeling his warmth next to me in bed. Watching him hold Adia in his "Daddy Hold". Seeing him play with Chief. Feeling his lips on mine,. Sunday, November 14, 2010. Adia isn't t...

The Deployed Wanderer

November 15, 2015. People who know their heart’s truest desires in their life are fortunate, and I am struggling. In this world, with endless opportunities, I figured it as almost impossible to find your true callingor is that just me? I’ve touched into so many things, almost like dipping my toes in the water (numerous times) to check the temperatures but more so, waiting for a temperature I’m comfortable to actually swim in. Fearless Readers, what are your passions, where is your joy drawn from? We live...

The Deployment Diaries

So long, 2014! December 31, 2014. 2014 was quite a year for me, full of all sorts of highs and lows. My life changed in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I wanted to take a second to reflect on the highlights of my past year and what I’m looking forward to in 2015! I guess the biggest change that 2014 brought was Levi and me getting married! In the beginning of December Levi and I started our house search, and we found one! 2014 was a really good year, and I am expecting 2015 to be even better. Just a c...

The Deployment Diary

Friday, January 06, 2006. A New Year, a New Direction. And a new blog. I've decided not to continue The Deployment Diary. I've been on my own fence of sorts, weighing options and ideas. For several months I've been considering redoing a website I used to have and get back to doing something that I used to enjoy. Last month though, Sue at Turning 30 and a half. Wrote about a yearly writing challenge known as NaNoWriMo. I've had 10 or so articles published in the past, but nothing since 2004. And, the ...
