Banoffee Pie – The Dessert Spoon
http://thedessertspoon.com/2014/05/12/banoffee-pie
Comfort eating and beyond. May 12, 2014. May 12, 2014. Do you want to create a stunning dessert at home but don’t have time to cook? This pie is for you! It’s so rich, delicious and pretty no one will guess that it all came from packets. All that is required to put this dessert together is a little bit of effort and, best of all, not too much cleaning up afterwards. Perfect for entertaining! I had never heard of a Banoffee Pie until I started watching the television series. Come Dine With Me. I still rem...
Bostock (Almond Toast) – The Dessert Spoon
http://thedessertspoon.com/2015/08/14/bostock-almond-toast
Comfort eating and beyond. August 14, 2015. March 14, 2016. Bostock doesn’t look like much on the plate but it has it all – it is sweet, rich, soft and crunchy, and nutty. It can be described as the love child of French toast and an almond croissant. It originates from the French Champagne region and is a brunch mainstay in France but virtually unheard of in Australia. I am baffled as to why it isn’t more popular outside of France because it’s so easy to make and so thoroughly delicious! Place the sugar,...
Fiji – The Dessert Spoon
http://thedessertspoon.com/2015/06/30/fiji
Comfort eating and beyond. June 30, 2015. July 2, 2015. Poolside cocktails in Fiji – this is how you do winter! Is located in the South Pacific Ocean and is only 3 hours by plane from Brisbane. It is the perfect winter holiday destination! A Fijian winter has pleasantly warm weather with daily temperatures averaging 22C (72F) and relatively low humidity. There was a lot of variety on offer in terms of food. My personal food highlights:. It is rather bland and starchy from what I understand. In Fiji there...
The Ultimate Brownie – The Dessert Spoon
http://thedessertspoon.com/2013/07/12/the-ultimate-brownie
Comfort eating and beyond. July 12, 2013. January 3, 2014. A few years ago I set out to find the ultimate brownie recipe. I tried many recipes. It was fun research. I liked this recipe the best as it has everything I want in a brownie – rich, dense, fudge-like and an intense chocolate flavour. The fact that it is really easy to make is just a bonus. Walnuts (about 1 cup) and milk chocolate (about 100g), all chopped. Macadamia nuts and white chocolate. Walnuts or pecans and chocolate coated coffee beans.
Lemon & Rosewater Sponge Cake – The Dessert Spoon
http://thedessertspoon.com/2015/03/24/lemon-rosewater-sponge-cake
Comfort eating and beyond. Lemon and Rosewater Sponge Cake. March 24, 2015. March 24, 2015. This cake is so pretty! It is light and airy and flavoured with lemon and rosewater and then extravagantly decorated with edible dried roses. Lemon and rosewater is not a flavour combination I have ever had before. It’s so delicious and works so well together that I don’t know why it’s not used more often! To make this cake you will need:. 2 x sponge cakes. 1/3 cup sugar syrup. Whipped cream (about 1 cup or so).

Scramble those eggs, checklist. Did you warm up the eggs while in their shell. Check! Did you add some hot sauce into the egg mixture a couple of shakes per person! When you first put the eggs into the hot pan, did you leave them alone for a minute or two. Check. The rest is a piece of cake! December 14, 2014. Cook Like A Professional (Pasta) ». Creole bone in ham baked. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Smear Creole mustard or a coarse brown mustard completely over the ham. Coat the mustard with brown sugar. Place in a 2 inch high baking pan. Place the coated ham in the pan and add one inch of Coca cola. Make a tent out of the foil and place over the ham. You don’t. Want to cover it tightly or your ham will just steam. Bake for about 2 hours depending on the size of the ham. When the meat pulls away from the bone it is done. January 15, 2015. Health...

Add Spices and Herbs to your Meals. I was raised in the Midwest. I believe the only seasoning used in our household were just black pepper and salt. Only because they didn’t know better and in the winter the stores didn’t have fresh herbs. The stores were nothing like they are today. Besides adding flavor to a dish, they are also good for your health. I worked at a well known restaurant Delmonico’s on St. Charles Avenue. January 8, 2015. January 8, 2015. Baked John Dory with Lemon Caper Dressing Postcards from Italy, France and Ireland. Posted on August 12, 2015 6 comments. During the two weeks we spent in Rome, Venice and the south of France I quickly discovered that it was almost impossible to eat badly – locally wild-caught fish, seafood and freshly prepared salads and vegetables featured heavily on menus. Surprisingly, perhaps, we also found that there were plenty of gluten-free restaurants in Italy – some recommended. Our wonderful hotel, others fou...

December 31, 2012. Filed under: Baked Goods. 8212; thedessertshop @ 3:13 pm. Yesterday was my birthday. So to treat my self I made an apple pie. It is called a rustic pie because. You cook it on a cookie sheet not in a pie pan. The recipe that I used to make it is from the Food Network show. The recipe makes two pies like the one shown. I made one large pie and 24 small ones for a party. Here is how I made my pies:. 5 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced. 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar. In large bow...
