Trees - The Devenish Reserve. The raisond'etre of the reserve, is the chalk grasslands, but the woodlands do have some interesting species and are wonderful places to walk. There are a series of paths in a grid system, with some routes way-marked but some not. Visitors are free to way along any path, in any direction. This list currently shows 18 species. Geography - The Devenish Reserve. On the left below is a copy of a map showing the location of the site. It shows the road running along the western edge, and the bridle-way from Old Sarum running along the eastern edge. The carpark is roughly where the number 45 is printed. We do not currently have names for compartments or areas in the woodlands, although this may come later. As you would expect, the top of the map is the north end of the reserve, and the bottom is the southern direction.

I have now caught up with my deletions of butterfly and moth pictures, and I have added a few extra photos along the way. Today I added a page for the Forester moth.
