Sancta Maria ad Nives: Practical Jokes
http://sanctamariaadnives.blogspot.com/2013/01/practical-jokes.html
Sancta Maria ad Nives. Holy Mary of the Snows, pray for me! Monday, January 28, 2013. Dear friend on Facebook,. Implying that you are pregnant and then telling everyone that your "new addition" is actually a puppy and not a baby is really funny. Really. No one has ever done that before, and it's not going to hurt anyone's feelings. Riotously funny. November 13, 2013 at 12:59 PM. November 25, 2013 at 2:20 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sancta Maria ad Nives: November 2012
http://sanctamariaadnives.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Sancta Maria ad Nives. Holy Mary of the Snows, pray for me! Sunday, November 11, 2012. I know I don't have a lot of readers, but if you are reading, will you please take a moment to say a prayer for the Wenzel family? Wednesday, November 7, 2012. My husband and I love the whole family dearly, and to be part of the family in that way is very special. Is God sending me a sign that spiritual motherhood is to be my lot? http://sanctamariaadnives.blogspot.com/2012/11/spiritual-parenthood.html
Sancta Maria ad Nives. Holy Mary of the Snows, pray for me! Wednesday, November 7, 2012. My husband and I love the whole family dearly, and to be part of the family in that way is very special. But, then, the heartache of my own infertility, which has been at the forefront of my thoughts so often lately as my four closest married friends here are all pregnant, crept to the fore again. Two requests to be spiritual parents in less than a month? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Sancta Maria ad Nives: August 2012
http://sanctamariaadnives.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Sancta Maria ad Nives. Holy Mary of the Snows, pray for me! Sunday, August 26, 2012. Looking at the wedding photos on Facebook of someone who was once a good friend, who was prominently featured at my own wedding, but whose nuptials I was not invited to. Being offered a set of medals blessed by Pope John Paul II by a well-meaning fellow parishioner, who believes that the medals will bring safe delivery for pregnant mothers. Didn't someone tell me that you're pregnant? She asks. "I'm not," I reply. Nevert...

Sancta Maria ad Nives: Godparent!
http://sanctamariaadnives.blogspot.com/2013/01/godparent.html
Sancta Maria ad Nives. Holy Mary of the Snows, pray for me! Saturday, January 26, 2013. Our first godchild, Lucy, was born at 10:15 this morning. The mother's labor was easy- she went to daily Mass at 9am, and her husband barely had time to get back to the house after taking her home and dropping their toddler off with the babysitter. The midwife also barely made it. What a good girl to come so quickly! Unfortunately, the blanket I was making for her is blue and white- I was convinced she would be a boy!

Sancta Maria ad Nives: May 2014
http://sanctamariaadnives.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Sancta Maria ad Nives. Holy Mary of the Snows, pray for me! Saturday, May 10, 2014. Like thousands of other people, I posted a link to the blog post An open letter to pastors (A non-mom speaks about Mother's Day). On my Facebook page this week. Most of my friends liked it, but with a couple of them, it created quite a stir. Who is this woman, they asked, who wants to take away from mothers their special day to be celebrated? Finally, Mother's Day can also be a painful reminder for those whose mothers hav...

Sancta Maria ad Nives: It's Been a Year...
http://sanctamariaadnives.blogspot.com/2014/02/its-been-year.html
Sancta Maria ad Nives. Holy Mary of the Snows, pray for me! Saturday, February 15, 2014. It's Been a Year. I suspected for a long time that I had PCOS, but for some reason I didn't feel very motivated to seek a diagnosis, change my habits, or really do anything at all about it. I sort of took the attitude that if God wanted to send us children, he would. I also wasn't too worried because I've always had fairly regular cycles. Things couldn't be too bad, right? Where does that leave us? Its Been a Year.

Sancta Maria ad Nives: February 2014
http://sanctamariaadnives.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Sancta Maria ad Nives. Holy Mary of the Snows, pray for me! Saturday, February 22, 2014. Theology and Infertility, Part 1. I've been thinking a lot, and reading what is available, about what it means for a Catholic to be a spouse but not a parent. I admit to thinking most about myself, as a wife-not-mother, but most of this will also apply to men like my husband, who is a husband but not a father. Is it possible that it's not some violation of our vocation if we throw in the towel and say, "Enough! No, o...

Dressed For…What Again? | HERESY TO HABIT
https://heresytohabit.wordpress.com/2012/05/16/dressed-for-what-again
A Former Charismatic Evangelical Turned Catholic And Aspiring Nun. Dressed For…What Again? Ladies, we know men are generally aroused by visual cues. So what message are you sending by wearing items that may require tape to keep everything where it should be? Suspenders and belts exist for a reason and no one is interested in seeing your Joe Boxers. So why does all this even matter? It’s amazing too how what we wear and how we act starts to influence what we think and how we see ourselves and others. ...

“I Thirst” | HERESY TO HABIT
https://heresytohabit.wordpress.com/2012/04/06/i-thirst
A Former Charismatic Evangelical Turned Catholic And Aspiring Nun. 8220;I Thirst”. At the beginning of Lent, I was invited to share a mediation on Jesus’ Fifth Word – I thirst – at the Good Friday services at my parish, Holy Family Cathedral. The meditation follows:. After this, aware that everything was now finished, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled, Jesus said,. Come to Me all you who thirst [John 7:37]. I will satisfy and fill you. Do you thirst to be cherished? To see what truly great l...
