The Shiny Silver Inquisition: An Inquisitor's Thoughts on 7th Edition
http://shinysilverinq.blogspot.com/2014/05/an-inquisitors-thoughts-on-7th-edition.html
25 May, 2014. An Inquisitor's Thoughts on 7th Edition. This is as pretty as they get. I've had the weekend to think about the new rules, how they'll affect the game, and the quality of Games Workshop's eBook editions. First off, the changes to army composition. My mind literally cannot comprehend what it's going to do. It's too busy being inordinately excited about the possibilities. Unbound armies? I haven't looked into the Militarum Tempestus codex, but it likely has a small Detachment included to allo...

Painting in Space: September 2011
http://sammrichardson.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 19, 2011. Bowie Battle Bunker Official Grand Opening. It has been a nearly inexcusable length of time since I've last posted. Many reasons for this, all of which I won't bore you with. I'm posting now! So I heard tell that they were going to finally officially open the Games Workshop Battle Bunker in Bowie, Maryland. It's a very short trip from my house, and when they announced that they were going to have some cool flags for sale, I thought I'd check it out. My first Finecast models!

Painting in Space: Ork Blitza-Bommer All Done
http://sammrichardson.blogspot.com/2014/03/ork-blitza-bommer-all-done.html
Thursday, March 20, 2014. Ork Blitza-Bommer All Done. Here's the Finished Product! I completed the base this evening. Unless I decide to add some flocking or grass tufts (which I'm likely to do). The painting, at the very least, is totally complete. I kept the base simple, but focused on some weathered accents in the abandoned oil drum, and rusted bucket. I really enjoyed mucking up these two items, especially the barrel. I Love Rust and Such. I dabbed Vallejo Pigment (or weathering powder) Dark Red Ochr...

Painting in Space: August 2012

Saturday, August 25, 2012. Secret Weapon Miniatures Resin Bases First Impressions. I'll gladly pay someone to do this for me. I'm not a fan of making bases myself. I've done it, and I might even dare say that I've done it well in a few cases. Nothing fancy, nothing amazing, but clean and simple bases for models I intend to use quite often. When I started working on my Imperial Guard, I wanted to really try. Enter Secret Weapon Miniatures. What I was looking for on Secret Weapon's site. Here they are!

Painting in Space: Painting Checkers Tutorial
http://sammrichardson.blogspot.com/2014/02/painting-checkers-tutorial.html
Wednesday, February 26, 2014. I just wanted to go through my process for painting the checker pattern for my Orks. There might be some other Ork players out there that haven't given this a go. It's dead simple and it can really set off a model. Here we go then. 5 (Optional) Use a sepia wash to dirty up the checks, dulling the white. This helps tie the pattern back into the model. Weathering the checks is another great option. You can use a medium grey shade to show chipped paint or even just ...That's it...

22 July, 2012. Sixth Edition Unit Types: Flying Monstrous Creatures. Courtesy of Forge World. Day seven of the unit overview: Flying Monstrous Creatures. At the beginning of movement you get to declare which type of movement your Flying Monstrous Creature (FMC) will use until the beginning of the next turn: Gliding or Swooping. Since Jump Monstrous Creatures have Move Through Cover, they automatically pass the Dangerous terrain test for starting or ending in Difficult terrain. If they fly off the board, ...

The Shiny Silver Inquisition: February 2012
http://shinysilverinq.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
17 February, 2012. Blogging from 30,000 Feet. So I'm bored. It's a 5 hour flight across the country, so of course I'm thinking about 40k. Perhaps I should mention that EXTERMINATUS is getting modified a bit. Why? Skulls, or rather Orbital Strikes, got errata/clarifications. Skulls won't reduce OSR scatter. Sucks. I'll still have a couple in the list, but not as many. 08 February, 2012. 06 February, 2012. I Suppose I Owe an Explanation. I haven't posted here in 11 months? No time like the present! As yet ...
