28mm Miniature Soldier Journey plus anything else that takes my fancy.: December 2015
http://thediomedef16.blogspot.com/2015_12_01_archive.html
28mm Miniature Soldier Journey plus anything else that takes my fancy. Model Soldiers, Table Top Battles, Campaigns and N Gauge Model Railways. Wednesday, 30 December 2015. First Battle with the Lion Rampant rules - Part Two - The Outcome. The Yorkist archers failed to rally and automatically lose another figure, this represents men who have had enough and quietly slip away from the battlefield. Smashing into them, there are no flanks, rear or front in this game, so no bonus for a flank attack. The spear...

28mm Miniature Soldier Journey plus anything else that takes my fancy. Model Soldiers, Table Top Battles, Campaigns and N Gauge Model Railways. Wednesday, 14 December 2016. OHW - Pike and Shot rules, AAR. I simply took the artillery stats from the Horse and Musket period and replaced one of the cavalry classifications, combining the the two cavalry into one classification, so they are both trotters and gallopers. It worked out just fine. The right flank had one each of horse, clansmen and infantry. The C...

28mm Miniature Soldier Journey plus anything else that takes my fancy. Model Soldiers, Table Top Battles, Campaigns and N Gauge Model Railways. Sunday, 1 January 2017. 2017 Plans for the year. As a new year dawns, thoughts turn to what we would like to achieve this year. For the hobby, my goals are clear, start to work through the 10 mm Napoleonics I currently have, as well as the 28 mm 'Liberty or Death' box set. I have managed to complete all of my 6 mm ACW project in 2016. Labels: 10 mm Napoleonic.

28mm Miniature Soldier Journey plus anything else that takes my fancy. Model Soldiers, Table Top Battles, Campaigns and N Gauge Model Railways. Thursday, 12 January 2017. The Campaign of King Hugh III of Rosmia - Part One. My good friend Stephen, sent me a copy of his solo campaign rules, based on the One Hour Wargames rule book. He has created his own imagi-nation 54 mm armies, to fight it out using the Horse and Musket rules in OHW. However I intend to fight the campaign in the Medieval period. Baron T...

Drums of War : Santa was good to me this year.
http://miniaturewardrums.blogspot.com/2017/01/santa-was-good-to-me-this-year.html
A historical miniature wargaming blog. Monday, January 2, 2017. Santa was good to me this year. I've been a bit absent and have neglected the blog in the past few months. Real life tends to sneak up on you that way. I can't complain though because I was able to take a nice holiday break with my family and spend some good quality time with them all over the last few weeks. Not only did the General give me a set of the coolest bookends ever, but added to the military library. View my complete profile.

The Wall of Shields: Making a QUICK Greek or Roman Temple

The Wall of Shields. Ancient and Medieval miniatures wargaming. A Dash of Élan Blog. Sunday, June 14, 2015. Making a QUICK Greek or Roman Temple. Here a short example of how to make a quick temple for your Roman or Greek battles. Emphasis here is on "quick". However, the final product looks really good if done correctly. NOTE: I was in a kind of rush making the post. I intend to go back later and tighten it all up a little bit. Until then, here it is :). 5-6 (or more) plastic drinking straws. This is wha...

Had a great time learning the NEW version of DBA - and wow is it so good. Had a wonderful time. I do have to admit that it has been a long tie since my last game of DBA. If I remember it was back in the 2.0 version of the rules (and the last game I played involved these TWO very same armies - Polybian Rome vs. Later Seleucids! And probably less than an hour of game play.

Thursday, July 17, 2008. Griffin has started "Soccer Kids", which has been really fun. Every Saturday he and 11 other kids get together to learn the basics of soccer, and play some fun games that incorporate dribbling and kicking. He's actually very good. The preschool soccer team (dubbed "The Sweet Peas") will start practicing and playing games in late August. I will be one of the coaches. It's interesting how things come 'round full-circle. Here are some pics:. Thursday, May 15, 2008. He's also been ab...
