Sunday, September 28, 2014. Karcyn and the Broadcast. Karcyn attended the LDS church's General Women's Meeting. For the first time six months ago, which was also the very first meeting where girls ages 8 and up and young women were also invited to attend. Additionally, it was held on the same day she was baptized, in fact! We were at the stake center for several hours that day! Thomas .S monsan and his Preisadents "henry B. eyering and Pres. ucdorf". Uo this day of Joy and Love. My best feeling is when J...

HOUGH HAPPENIN'S: The Hunt for a House
http://jjcrew.blogspot.com/2014/07/the-hunt-for-house.html
Monday, July 21, 2014. The Hunt for a House. After Jared wrapped up his third and final interview with the administrators from the Madisonville, TX clinic the last week in March, we were 98% confident that he'd be offered a job. In fact, Lauren, the recruiter from St. Joes, said that he would get his official offer the following week as the vice president of approving such things was out of town. Of course. For, we couldn't beat the price at $217,000! When he was down there visiting. He was given som...

HOUGH HAPPENIN'S: College Station, Texas at last!!
http://jjcrew.blogspot.com/2015/08/college-station-texas-at-last.html
Saturday, August 15, 2015. College Station, Texas at last! July 2, 2014, was the day! College Station: Ready or not. Here come the Houghs! We knew we needed to be back on the road no later than 6am in order to avoid the heavy Dallas/Ft. Worth morning traffic. When we checked in the night before, we were surprised and so grateful to receive vouchers for breakfast at Denny's adjacent to the motel. They opened at 5am, so that would work perfectly! We had to UNLOAD the truck- at the hottest part of the day.

HOUGH HAPPENIN'S: May 2014
http://jjcrew.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 11, 2014. On Sunday, March 2nd, the day we told the kids we were moving out of state, Jake offered to make dinner, which was waffles- and.the first time doing making them on his own. Thin They were so thin, in fact, they were see through in some places. I told Jake not to worry. They were like a cross between a crepe and a waffle. Jared piped up and said "a craw-ffle! Jared was on a roll because later he said, "instead of wafer-thin, it's waffle-thin! Your hair looks like a bird's nest! This ...

HOUGH HAPPENIN'S: May 2015
http://jjcrew.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 31, 2015. Texas or Bust: Utah Layover. I had printed off a couple of pages from the "Roadtrip Activity Binders" post on the Our Best Bites. Web site to add to the ones I already had in preparation for our move. One of them was the "Postcard Passport" page. Buy a postcard every time we stop. For gas and tape it here so you. Can remember where we’ve been! What a gip. So disappointing. But whatdaya do? You get back in the car and keep on trucking. We were 0 for 2. On Saturday, June 28, 2014, bri...

HOUGH HAPPENIN'S: April 2014
http://jjcrew.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 29, 2014. The new job journey. Author's Apologetic Note and Warning: Reading this post will be. We knew change was coming at Jared's office. We just didn't know what. Or who it would effect. As the staff/office manager, the doctor had shared some vague information with me. He was able to share more with Jared but not enough specifics for us to really know the full scope of the situation. Having to pay for full benefits. So when Jared repeated that he felt losing our health insurance benefi...

HOUGH HAPPENIN'S: November 2014
http://jjcrew.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 25, 2014. The next big step in selling our house was the home inspection. This made me more nervous than anything. We're talking about a 40 year old house- and although in pretty good condition, is still 40 years old. The roof was brand new and the siding was good but it's the things you can't see in the walls and in the attic or the crawlspace that had me worried. Corrective action requested by buyer. Hire professional duct cleaner to clean air ducts and dryer vent. Replace step flashi...

HOUGH HAPPENIN'S: July 2014
http://jjcrew.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 31, 2014. Here's a little Texas trivia- Montgomery is the birthplace of the Texas flag. I learned that when I drove through there Monday morning.for a second time that day, on my way. From taking Jake to the Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, when his. Failed to pick him up. That's right- I got to make an unplanned and dreaded trip to Houston. About 4:45AM, I woke up my four other sleeping children, carried them to the car with blankets, water and snacks so I could drive,. Jake make...

HOUGH HAPPENIN'S: March 2015
http://jjcrew.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 14, 2015. June 2014, week 3. This was it. It had all come to this. Our last week in our house. While we couldn't leave Oregon until Friday, 6/27, we were closing on the 20th and had to be out of the house by then. Sunday, June 15th. Third, I LOVED the example that Jared was setting for our boys and even Karcyn. Sure we missed having him sit with us in the pew each week (though the McCullough's company more than made up for that! I was touched by all the things he shared and I'm. Myself fo...

HOUGH HAPPENIN'S: August 2014
http://jjcrew.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 29, 2014. Especially in the schools! On Wednesday afternoon, I got a text message from Calvin's teacher: Don't forget to wear your Aggie gear for Game Day tomorrow! MyGoodness. I don't know if I was more impressed or shocked that I figured the acronym out so fast. Despite all of these reminders, I neglected to make note and put Game Day in my planner. One thing is most definitely clear: College Station LOVES its Aggies. Now, if you're like me, you have no. Or similar multi-pronged spear.
