City was able to STUN united 2-1, and they didn't even boo during the Moment of Silence! Then upon knowledge that Chelsea could close the gap considerably with a win over struggling liverpool, they get out there, and do Nothing! Squat, Shit, Plop NOTHING. And draw 0-0. It is time for a recap of the tournament, some looks to the future, and some ideas about where this blog will go in the future. It literally took me a week to recover after the final, I'd been spending so much time watching, writing about, reading about and talking about the world cup, I just needed a week or two off. Friday, June 30, 2006. Quarterfinal Predictions as they are now set. Mexico made Argentina look weak, but I think Mexico's defense is more proven than Germany's. At least they were tested more. Ukraine doesn't seem to attack goal, even with one of the best attackers in the world with Shevchelski. Italy will score 1 early, go into defensive mode and then get a late goal off a set piece to win 2-0. I will never pick against brazil, barring a plane crash, crab epidemic or hostage situation.
