The slow descent to mediocrity. Friday, March 06, 2009. Just stopping by. The day job is hell-ish but good, naturally. On my sick bed listening to the following. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The slow descent to mediocrity. Friday, March 30, 2007. Lent - current progress. As you might have read (if you got that far through that post. I decided to give up a most treasured past-time of mine - record buying - for Lent. So far it's been a surprisingly pleasant walk in the park. This bout of abstinence has proved a good thing; I've finally found the opportunity to trawl through a dusty pile of records (still encased in cellophane) that have so far eluded the CD player. Got A Thing On My Mind.

The slow descent to mediocrity. Sunday, October 28, 2007. To say, how good is Jens Lekman's Night Falls Over Kortedala? Answer: Very; mind-meldingly good. Go and buy yourself a copy! Three Pink Monkeys: Panda Bear @ 93 Feet East
http://threepinkmonkeys.blogspot.com/2007/03/panda-bear-93-feet-east.html
The slow descent to mediocrity. Friday, March 09, 2007. Panda Bear @ 93 Feet East. I couldn't see the stage let alone get near enough to take photos. Here's an appropriate alternative. I like to think it would. Venues aside, I cannot and will not fault the main man - it was an excellent set. Panda Bear - Bros. Labels: Saw this band the other night. Three Pink Monkeys: 07/01/2007 - 08/01/2007
http://threepinkmonkeys.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
The slow descent to mediocrity. Wednesday, July 25, 2007. Are one of those bands I know I like and yet ask me to explain why and I can find no definable reason. There's something strangely soothing about their discordant manner of address. They take winning hooks, run them through the mangler, add some feedback and electronic odds and ends and mold sounds that are truly idiosyncratic and wholly their own. As his bandmate's solo outing. Tracklisting looks something like this:. 04 For Reverend Green. Sorry...

Three Pink Monkeys: Not for the faint-hearted
http://threepinkmonkeys.blogspot.com/2007/08/not-for-faint-hearted.html
The slow descent to mediocrity. Monday, August 06, 2007. Not for the faint-hearted. Life has been very busy; it's been an age since the last post but new jobs can throw spanners when you least expect them. I'm going to keep this one short and sweet as interesting sentences are in short supply and the sofa is calling. Photo by James Mejia. Keeping me sane lately has been Canadian improv electronica noisemakers Holy Fuck. On my DIY CD. Lovely indeed, and full of mind-altering hooks. View my complete profile.

Three Pink Monkeys: Nina Nastasia & Jim White @ Union Chapel

The slow descent to mediocrity. Sunday, July 08, 2007. Nina Nastasia and Jim White @ Union Chapel. So it's a shame that the bands on stage could not make more of an impact than their rather opulent surroundings. I think I would have appreciated the fine musings of The Twilight Sad more had the percussion not completely drowned out the rest of the band. Perhaps the drummer would have benefited from a set of brushes. Labels: Saw this band the other night. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). So bad it went ...

Three Pink Monkeys: Latitude Festival
http://threepinkmonkeys.blogspot.com/2007/07/latitude-festival.html
The slow descent to mediocrity. Wednesday, July 18, 2007. Sorry for the lack of posts lately. As an excuse I am currently on a sojourn from the rat race and basking in the heat of Barcelona for a few days. The rest of the blame can be placed on work as well as a temporary inertia scuttling through my brain over the past week or so. It's thanks to work that I managed to land a last minute ticket to Latitude Festival. Musically I enjoyed in no particular order:. Saw this band the other night. Jym Davis art...
