Monday, October 31, 2005. So, it's nearly the end of another Monday. A ratehr good Monday at that. I only hope that the rest of the year's Monday's are like this one. After a lovely weekend of watching Mary Poppins on Saturday and SA beating New Zealand in the cricket on Sunday, Heather and I started this Monday morning off with a brisk walk around the park, at 5:30 in the morning! It was really good and refreshing. I'm trying to take a page out of Jack Groppel's book, and start a new habit! As you can s...

http://thegreavesfamily.blogspot.com/2012/05/switching-to-my-fathers-world.html
The Greaves Family, homeschooling in South Africa. Switching to My Father's World Curriculum. Learning about our precious rhinos- Folded Paper Rhinos. Our homeschool journey has been a very bumpy one. First, we were unsure how to go about homeschooling in South Africa. We started off rather blindly, with no support or information about homeschooling. We want a curriculum that is Bible based, one that doesn't just tag on Bible. We all love books, and reading plays a huge part in our learning. We like to d...

The Greaves Family, homeschooling in South Africa. Partial Eclispe of the Sun. Today we experienced a partial eclipse of the sun, in South Africa. Then Daddy took the telescope and reflected the sun onto paper first and then onto each persons hand. See below. Then we reflected it onto a large poster...To explai...

The Greaves Family, homeschooling in South Africa: April 2009
http://thegreavesfamily.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
The Greaves Family, homeschooling in South Africa. Time to change my ticker! After months of not blogging, I have to make a quick entry here tonight. About a month ago, Shelley, our youngest, was finally weaned, after feeding for 2 years and 5 months. Yippee! So, for the first time in seven years, I am not pregnant, breastfeeding or both ;-). I thought I would be rather sad about this, but it was a very happy ending for us both, the time was ripe, and I feel I need a bit of " re-charging. Alpha Omega Hom...

The Greaves Family, homeschooling in South Africa: The Eco-brick
http://thegreavesfamily.blogspot.com/2014/08/the-eco-brick.html
The Greaves Family, homeschooling in South Africa. We recently visited a friend and found her kitchen counters "littered" with 2 L soft drink bottles, filled with colourful bits of plastic. Curious, we just had to ask. Joel and Emma gladly joined in, and Joel has been responsible for ramming the plastic in. He does it very effectively with a wooden dowel. They both made signs at our dustbin so that we would remember not to throw away the plastic. So, would you like to join the ecobrick challenge? I've re...
