About Me And My Patch. Saturday, 8 August 2015. An off patch day today had me visiting Thursley Common with Marc Heath ( see his superb blog here. Dragon Habitat At Thursley. We spent 7 hours in glorious weather chasing down Dragonflies, of which we found 16 species, two of those being new to me, the Black Darter and the Common Hawker, although the latter only gave flight views, the former were seen in good numbers, giving lots of photo opportunities. Newly emerged Common Darter. 8 August 2015 at 20:08.

http://notmanywords.blogspot.com/2015/08/little-owl-kestrel.html
Thursday, 6 August 2015. Little Owl and Kestrel. Tuesday saw me at South Shields in the hope of seeing Short-eared Owl. In the event the wind was too strong and it was keeping the Owls hunkered down (if indeed they were still there). I was still happy though as four Little Owl put on a great show posing well. A juvenile Kestrel was hunting and again posed for pictures. 10 May 2016 at 19:41. Really lovely shots here, especially of the Little Owl. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
