The Duck's Nest

Sunday, January 3, 2010. On our last full day in Florida we stopped by Siesta key just south of Sarasota. The sand was white and had the finest particles I have ever seen. It was a little too cool for swimming but nice to walk on. Mode Aquarium is a rescue hospital for turtles, manatee, dolphins, and sea birds. It was fun to see the animals close up. The Duck's Nest: December 2008

http://www.theducksnest.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 6, 2008. Turkey Day at G-Ma's. For Thanksgiving this year, we headed north, thru the woods, to grandmothers house. We were blessed with lots of snow. There was over a foot on the ground when we arrived and it just kept coming. Check out the snow on the sugar shack. Just 4 more months until syrup season. Shadow is a little crazy about snow. He likes to bark at it until it falls. The kids enjoyed playing with their big cousin “Jimbo.”. The annual sledding out back. Turkey Day at G-Mas.

This Blog is of our family's travels and experiences living in Hiroshima Japan. Thursday, July 31, 2008. Mitaki chapel has been our spiritual home in Hiroshima. There is no way I could explain the impact they have had on us. It was a sad day to say goodbye. Pastor Chris enjoying the food spread. (very impressive pot luck). Yukiji was my partner with the overheads for the services. Hailey hanging with the girls. The Ronalds - Midori, Jim and Grace. Josh, Corey and Tim. Pastor Kevin and Midori.

This Blog is of our family's travels and experiences living in Hiroshima Japan. Friday, August 24, 2007. Chris is our first family visitor. The kids were so excited to see her. Hailey showing off her Japanese fashion. She's wearing a Yukata, which is a summer kimono. Shukkei-en Garden is 4-5 blocks from our Apartment. It is such a nice serine place. It dates back to 1620, but was rebuilt after the bombing. We thought it would a nice place for a first day to help with the jet lag. Nijo-jo castle was built...

I couldn’t help myself; I had to take a picture. The kids fund raised to put a “Peace Garden” in a local park. The Pole in the center of this picture will be the center of the garden. Each of the students made there own tile to be placed around it. The kids had a music presentation to match. Wednesday, May 07, 2008.

This Blog is of our family's travels and experiences living in Hiroshima Japan. Thursday, July 31, 2008. We can not believe it has been over two years since we began our adventure in Japan. We have made many friendships that we hope will last for years. If we visit back to Japan, or find any old pictures we will be sure to post them here. Party at Hiroshima Station. Check out the aggressive turtles. One last lesson in origami. We miss you Ami! Mitaki chapel has been our spiritual home in Hiroshima. T...

http://travelducks.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

This Blog is of our family's travels and experiences living in Hiroshima Japan. Saturday, November 17, 2007. Nathan’s class had a field trip to the Mitaki Buddhist Temple to study different religions. This temple is located up on one of the hill behind our church, overlooking Hiroshima. It has three different waterfalls around it. I have not had a chance to check this out yet. I hope to soon. Nathan entered the Hiroshima Peace Run this year. He bettered his time from last year by 2 minuets in the 5K.

This Blog is of our family's travels and experiences living in Hiroshima Japan. Tuesday, February 12, 2008. The Boys Day Out. Monday was a national holiday, so we all had the day off. The girls still had piano lessons at home so Nathan and I headed back up the mountain. The weather was perfect, about 40 deg F and sunny. Nathan really improved his snowboarding. He is starting to get up on edge and able to link turns even on the steeper intermediate hills. Strapping in ready to go! Nathan the snow board rat.

A place for Corey's pictures and obscure thoughts. Sunday, September 28, 2008. Playtime at Jim's house. FINALY I got to visit Jim's house and my Bike again! After a few warm up laps the sun was starting to set and we took a few pictures. Unfortunately the light was a little too low for any good pictures but… What the heck. Jim proving why his is the king of his track. Jim and his old trust worthy bike. Why is Brian smiling so much? Is Amanda wearing a dress? I don't see one? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Corey's Playground: August 2009

http://coreysplayground.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

A place for Corey's pictures and obscure thoughts. Saturday, August 29, 2009. All the better for me. I have looked on the web and found almost no information regarding the ancient art work (graffiti). The common understanding is that it is around 1000 years old. I wonder if this area is religious to the native people. I swear I could feel something here, could just be the solitude I am not used to. The trail though the grapevines. This picture does a poor job showing that the plants are over 7 ft tall.

Just another WordPress.com site. November 5, 2012. So, i went to see The Wedding Present on Saturday night down at the Button Factory. They were the latest in a long line of bands i loved when i was younger, and now get to see again. It’s funny how the “benefit” of a few extra years (like, maybe 20….) can change your opinion of something, or completely reinforce it. Takes me right back. It feels a mess, the carpet is always sticky and manky, steps all over the place, and the jacks was disgusting. Day two...

The Duck's Pond - Life of David. From techie to day trader, with some volleyball and family thrown in. Monday, March 12, 2007. Still treading water . but in a current (perhaps). So, I suppose the main question is . where am I headed? How much would that be? Is it even an option? If I find another job, would I have a waiting period with obtaining coverage? Can my wife add me to her insurance immediately or will there be a wait? Posted by El Pato @ 10:05 AM. Wednesday, February 28, 2007. The Big Down Day.
