Saturday, 8 November 2014. My niece Jacqui married Cormac at the beginning of October. The reception was held at the Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa in Donegal,. Which was excellent in every way,. And this was the view outside the hotel. My present to them was a quilt. I used my Friendship Quilt design but made it longer at the top and bottom with extra borders and nine patch blocks. This is the quilt on my frame getting quilted. It's a truer colour as the lighting must have been better that day.

Sunday, 17 May 2015. Yesterday I spent the afternoon at "An Exhibition of Patchwork Quilts" organised by the Thimbleberries Group in Newtowncunningham, Co Donegal. There were lots of lovely quilts, cushions and wallhangings, all beautifully pieced and quilted. I must apologise in advance though as I did not get all the names of the makers. I use batiks because of the wonderful colours and tones on the fabric. Decorative thread is used for the satin stitch. Thursday, 30 July 2015. This week I have enjoyed quilting two of my quilts. The first was Sunny Lane on which I did a rose and leaf pantograph. The second one was a Strip X quilt which I made with my batik scraps. I have to say that I just love the colours in this quilt. I used an oak leaf pantograph and a gorgeous Gutterman 30wt variegated green thread.
