http://lifeafterdubai.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Monday, 30 May 2011. My first week back in Hijab. 15:18 Posted by Louise. My first week back into Hijab went sooooo well. My work collegues loved the different colours of shayla I wore all matched perfectly with my outfits, infact my manager "Janet" was so pleased to see I was not going to be dressed head to toe in black. I feel at peace now back in Hijab, because I did it because my heart wanted to do it. I may have been out of Hijab for a long time but Allah knows what was in my heart. I decided to sha...

Life After Dubai: Lucky Escape
http://lifeafterdubai.blogspot.com/2012/05/lucky-escape.html
Monday, 14 May 2012. 20:23 Posted by Louise. I was so lucky 2 weeks ago Alhamdulillah. It was wednesday 2nd May 2012 and I had just finished my morning duty and was on my way to get some lunch and had the snack list for the office with me (we take it in turns). My office is outside a very busy and at times dangerous road. Quite a few people have been killed on the crossing, so we are always careful. The crossing has two parts both with the red/green man to let you know to cross safely or not. I think the...

Life After Dubai: Knickers on The Ceiling Fan and All That Jazz
http://lifeafterdubai.blogspot.com/2012/05/knickers-on-ceiling-fan-and-all-that.html
Wednesday, 9 May 2012. Knickers on The Ceiling Fan and All That Jazz. 18:53 Posted by Louise. When you live in a country you have to take the rough with the smooth and that includes what goes on in the community not just what is going on in your life. Some of my UAE. Memories could be frowned upon, but I believe in revealing the rough and the smooth . Today my memory bank opens up about "Hookers". And Hookers were one of the reasons I stopped going to Kalba for the weekend. Anyone who lives in UAE. I was...

Life After Dubai: June 2011
http://lifeafterdubai.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, 30 June 2011. What Kind Of Muslim Am I? 22:28 Posted by Louise. How would I sum myself up as a Muslim? I am one of the most honest people around, I say what is in my heart, admit when I am wrong and try never to judge anyone. First and foremost I love Allah, sometimes I talk to him in my mind when I am on the way to work, sometimes I well up with tears from love for Allah when I am apologising to him for not always being strong with my deen. Since wearing hijab after 5 years without I have got ...

Life After Dubai: April 2012
http://lifeafterdubai.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, 22 April 2012. A Typical Weekend In The Old Days. 09:44 Posted by Louise. Its the weekend here in UK and as usual I have done nothing more than endless housework and worry about what my daughter has been up to. (she is 8 but has just been diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum so she does not understand life and dangers as others do). We always stayed in Ahmed's farm until the last few years when we stayed in Omrans cousins farm but other friends also had farms that we took turns to have thurs...

Life After Dubai: Falconry in UAE
http://lifeafterdubai.blogspot.com/2012/05/falconry-in-uae.html
Sunday, 13 May 2012. 21:36 Posted by Louise. I absolutly love Falcons and I remember many times I asked O if I could have my own one. I was fortunate to have been taken into the desert quite a few times by O's cousin Hazeem and was shown how to hunt (Hazeem used to help train the late Sheikh Zayed's falcons many years ago and also travelled with him when he went hunting) . There are two types of falcon used for hunting in UAE "Saqr" which is the most popular and the Peregrine. You need to have a lot of p...

Life After Dubai: Again in reply to anon
http://lifeafterdubai.blogspot.com/2012/05/again-in-reply-to-anon.html
Monday, 14 May 2012. Again in reply to anon. 18:25 Posted by Louise. In my culture this is an insult to compare the two. And as I said before not every relationship/friendship involves sex. There are many ways to love and support someone even when your not married. My graphic design business was 100% mine, financed by me (very small finance was needed, just a computer to be honest, yet I made excellant money). This will be my last post on this matter. 14 May 2012 at 21:08. View my complete profile.

Thursday, 22 September 2011. Seems To Be All Doom and Gloom At The Moment. 19:59 Posted by Louise. The past few months seem to have seen a lot of doom and gloom. I cant believe all the people I work with who seem to have died recently or fallen seriously ill. Today I found out another dear work collegue "Steve" who I always had a laugh and joke with when I worked at the other Housing Office in Town is bravely fighting Prostrate Cancer and the outlook is not very good.
