Under the Sweetgum Tree. Wednesday, May 25, 2011. The Recipe: Blood Building/Liver Nourishing Syrup. So yummy I had to share! All herbs are dried:. Dash of fennel seeds. Tweak ingredients as needed. If you have a warmer constitution or heat issues, omit the ginger. Let it cool just a bit, then add 1/2c or less raw honey. I used closer to 1/4c as I want to taste the herbs more than the honey. Bottle and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months. Enjoy liberally! Links to this post. Tuesday, May 24, 2011.

Under the Sweetgum Tree...: Adrenal Fatigue, Food Intolerance and Pregnancy

http://thefamilyherbal.blogspot.com/2011/05/adrenal-fatigue-food-intolerance-and.html

Under the Sweetgum Tree. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Adrenal Fatigue, Food Intolerance and Pregnancy. I have long since adopted a nourishing traditional diet suitable for pregnancy. Generally free of wheat and dairy, but I have found that I am able to reintroduce pastured raw milk, cheese, butter and yogurt mostly from local sources with much satisfaction and no ill effect. Otherwise, my diet most easily categorized as paleo. May 25, 2011 at 5:12 PM. Thank you for sharing this. I am just beginning (what I...

http://thefamilyherbal.blogspot.com/2011/05/healing-heart-with-invasives.html

Under the Sweetgum Tree. Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Healing the Heart With Invasives. I was recently interviewed. Our romantic notion of an untouched native ecosystem is but a snapshot, a single moment in time. How did the same ecosystem manifest 1000 yrs prior? Has anyone or anything ever been healed by anger or fear? Note: i do not want ot leave the impression that i do not acknowlege the damage, to man and earth, of the agro-military-industrial complex. I can not sit in a place of blame and anger, but...

Under the Sweetgum Tree. Sunday, June 13, 2010. Flowers and Candy.and Wounds? Ooh, it is a kitchen day! Free of crazy four year old twins, Stone and I created some scrumptiousness that had been in the kitchen queue for a while. Seaweed gomasio set it all off. The smell of gently toasting sesame seeds wafting through the house in enough, but add a little bit o sea salt, some kelp powder and dulse flakes, and wow! To find out everything it can do for you! I couldn't stop there, we moved on to pasteli.

Wild Vitality!: July 2014

http://wildvitality.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

July 24, 2014. Why internal usage of essential oils is a bad idea. MLM companies like Young Living and DoTerra recommend dangerous usages of essential oils. They are not to be taken internally. Following the recommended usages of those companies not only puts more money in their pockets, but it is grossly disrespectful to the plants who gift us with their medicine so freely. Let's show our plant allies that we respect them and are grateful for their offerings by using their gifts responsibly. July 8, 2014.

October 13, 2013. As The Wheel Turns. As fall deepens, my thoughts turn towards preparing for winter and what I'd like to accomplish in the coming year. What do you do to prepare for winter? Do you have favorite activities that you're better able to devote time to during the dark of the year? Are you affected by Seasonal Affective Disorder? SAD is a heavy hitter here in the Great Black Swamp. Do you have a strategy to keep it at bay? I'll be making up a batch of Blues Beater Tea soon. Do you need any?
