Our Abu Dhabi adventure: February 2015
http://puryears.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Our Abu Dhabi adventure. Saturday, February 28, 2015. Good-bye, Meme (1924-2015). Today is Meme's funeral. In Arkansas. And I am here, in Abu Dhabi. Almost 8000 miles away. I am very sad to not be with the extended Scroggin clan as they gather to celebrate Meme's life, her influence on us all and to stay good-bye. She was a remarkable woman and I learned so much from her. Summer 2014: The last time I saw Meme. It is a special memory because she knew who I was when I walked in the door. She hadn't...When ...

Our Abu Dhabi adventure: July 2015
http://puryears.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Our Abu Dhabi adventure. Friday, July 31, 2015. Meredith made the Pandas International July Newsletter after she raised Pennies for Pandas. Yay, Meredith! Here is just the blurb about her which was embedded in their overall newsletter that goes out all over. Meredith is a little shy but she was so brave to stand up in front of her whole classroom and tell them about Pennies for Pandas - although they don't have pennies in Abu Dhabi so she collected dirhams which is the currency used here. Here are some p...

http://puryears.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Our Abu Dhabi adventure. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. The girls are getting us ready for Egypt. In preparation, totally on their own they pulled together an amazing presentation for us to help get us all ready for the trip. Anna led us in a choreographed rendition of "Pharoah, Pharoah" - you know, "ooh, baby, let my people go! Yeah, yeah, yeah! So clearly I've got a ways to go in knowing *anything* about ancient Egyptian gods! Regan telling us all about the Sphinx. Meredith explaining all about mummies!

Our Abu Dhabi adventure: March 2014
http://puryears.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Our Abu Dhabi adventure. Monday, March 10, 2014. Happy 11th Birthday, Regan! Our main celebration was to go see the big musical extravaganza of Peter Pan: The Neverending Story which we drove up to Dubai to see the weekend before her birthday. It was a musical with a bit of Cirque de Soleil thrown in - very entertaining for all of us. Per Regan's request, we went for Mexican food afterwards. Waiting for the Peter Pan show to start. It was a fun show for all of us. Happy birthday, d-e-a-r Regan! Spring br...

Our Abu Dhabi adventure. Friday, May 29, 2015. Here are some photos of our spring - between spring break and the last few weeks of school. I got to chaperone these adorable kindergarteners on their field trip to the Fish and Vegetable market. In front of our shiny new air conditioned Farmer's Market (a little easier than the outdoor vegetable and fish markets out by the port - but a little light on the charm factor! Happy, happy kids at the giant hotel pool. So these slide racing thingies are way scarier...

Our Abu Dhabi adventure: October 2014
http://puryears.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Our Abu Dhabi adventure. Friday, October 31, 2014. Once again the girls enjoyed our Fall Festival at school (the last Thursday in October each year) which is quite the event with each class setting up a booth with a fun old fashioned carnival game to earn candy. There is also entertainment by the kids and a haunted house put on by the high school kids (which we've never been into since it is reportedly very scary! The decorations were already up during the school day. My little fairy (with light-up wings!
